Default aluminum foil limited slip

I was in a pinch, no hot glue gun, no J.B. weld. I decided to pack small bits of aluminum foil in the rear axle and see if it would work for a locker. At first it held pretty solid, but by the end of the first battery, it's more of a limited slip...... You get some pull on the the other tire, but not 100% like a spool, or locker would. No idea the longevity of this, but I figure it couldn't hurt to try....

A search on aluminum foil turned up nothing.....

I would reccomend doing it to somebody's truck you don't like. I'll post pics of the aftermath when I take it apart.

I do not like it in my KING,

stuffed here, there, and in between.

Now my traction, well, it SUX

no matter where i go, I just get stuck.

Now my axle, it kind of lurches,

I guess I should have used a couple of SEARCHES.

I think it is awesome that you thought of something else and even tried searching before you used it.

I would really like to see the carnage pics when you get the chance.

I personally used Epoxy putty to lock out my diffs of my WK. Held through my first comp and is still holding after all the bashing in my backyard that is has gone through.

Nice thinking madbob!

Hey even though it did not work out, you still have a interesting way to make glitter for the winners circle.

So far I'm very happy with the poster putty LSD. Just enough lock to pull hard through any condition, just enough slip to keep from breaking an axle if I get the wheel bound up and gas it before I notice.

this thread is funny....

doesnt kyosho make stuff called diff clay...for guys that want to go that route...i tried the silly putty in my clodbuster years ago...i dont think i will go that route ever again...

in my WK diffs i put 50,000wt oil and sealed up the housings...very limited slip but i like it....i have since taken the spools out of all my axles and trannies...and replaced with 50K oil...i like the action...

just my personal preference.
