My two current rigs... SCX10 based LR3 mall crawler (must be from Eagle, right?): Still working on the lights and I have a couple scale items headed my way. And the DNA slingshot Axial rig: And a shout to my first hobby class truck |

This is my Duratrax CC (1/14) I picked up from HT a little while back. Got the ARTC version for under 50 bucks! Wheelbase is at 12.5" (at ride height, compressed 13"max) Tires and wheels are stock, customized. Links are home made. Traxxas shocks off stampede. Running a losi micro 12t esc to the dual stock motors. Traxxas 4 channel reciever. futaba s3003 standard servos front and back. Duratrax stock body. My goal was a LOW COST, capable crawler. Oh and the lights too! Love some of the rigs on here! You all are making me want to spend some real money and build a scaler! |

My first and only crawler so far. I know it looks like a stock CC but I have made some changes. Longer bent lower links to level out the axels. Machined new steering knuckles which corrected the steering geometry. Locked out the rear steering. Added the Hitec 645mg and alum tie rod. Wheel base is now right at 10". Went with a Tazer 15T esc so now I run one 7.2 stick. The motors are the next step up from Dura Trax 8500. I have a Chevy C10 body I'm about to paint up for it which should make it look better. I also have a set of rover whites but I can't pull them till I get the gear reductions from RC Rock Crawling. The plan is to be right at 12.5" wheel base when I'm done. Hoping to start a scaler soon after I get this one to a point that I can compete. |
