Default My super build

Hey it's a start right lol

Specs as planned are:

Clod axles with integy tubes and knuckles (ttr cvd's in the future)
Holmes Hobbies 35t handwounds
Dual sidewinders or rooster crawlers
ccbec
Dual Hitec 805bb servos with custom mounts
dx6
lipo
Moab XL's
I'm sure this will be a slow build so don't wait around for new posts everyday lol
Any suggestions or comments are welcome.

yea, It's the only thing white I have to take pictures on besides the washer and it was moving at the time lol

1/2 round solid alum. I grabbed from work today. 20 inches long. I think I'm gonna shoot for 17-18 wb. Now I just gotta get me some axles. I'm watching a few sets on ebay right now. I just missed a set cause I was at work that sold for 55 bux :-(

yup, they have 1/2" solid rod and 1/4" heims... Then you just need to bribe someone with the tools to turn it into a chassis

Im actually thinking about using delrin rod instead of aluminum for mine.

I went ahead and placed my order...sorry I didnt wait. If that solid rod doesnt work out for you let me know. I ordered some thick wall 1/2" tube that I should be able to thread to 3/8".

FYI, you will need 3/8" heims for the clod axles not the 1/4" I used on my Bullies.

Also, if you need any 1/4" aluminum I might know where you can get some at a fair price.

3/8ths thats it. I couldn't remember if they were 3/8ths or 1/4 lol. I think I'll be ok on the aluminum. I know a hookup

This isn't going as planned lol. I tryed drilling and tapping the rod. That ended up bad. Since I have no drill press it ended up pretty crooked. Then the heims I ordered don't move freely at all. I tryed oiling them up and everything but no go.
I'm seriously considering going with a pimp cane from jp now lol.

let me save you some headaches
Mcmaster part #'s you wll need:
1064K541 heims
1968T762 2024 1/2 tube with a .095 wall

Use those and save yourself a TON of frustration
If you want to keep going with the solid rod idea, I can help you get it drilled straight.

Yea that heim is deffinatly diffrent lol. Mine had both the axle and rod sections combined as 1 and was really heavy duty. But then again it came from Peterbuilt lol.
I'm gonna take the rod to a buddys house with a press and see if I can get it straight. At least with the solid rod I know if I take a good fall I wont bend in half lol.

Well I think it's time for an update. I've had a difficult time getting the stick right and instead of being a pain in the arse, I've just skipped the stick for now and will revert back to it when I have time and more patience. So this is what I have now.
JP Customs 19" Hammered Finish pimp Cane. WB is right at 17.5.
RC4WD Tubes on front
RC4WD Knuckles on front
Integy Knuckles on rear
Integy Axle Braces
TTR CVD's
Alum Lockers
TP 9805MG servos
Custom Made servo mounts by ME!
Proline Velocity 6's narrowed to 2"
Moab XL's
G-Made 14mm wheel adaptors

All I can say about this rig is that once I quit messin with the stick and bolted up the PC it's been really fun to build. I made the servo mounts tonight and they turned out awesome! I should of took a pic before I mounted them but I wanted to see a servo on the axle lol. I also tackled making links for the first time Jeff's way. They turned out great too. I even polished them lol. I was skeptical of the Pimp Cane with flex until I put tires on it then it came alive. And It's only gonna get better.

I still need to get some motors, esc's, adj motor mounts, and 2 bec's. After that I should be good to go. I have 2 10t pinions but may trade one in for a 9 for the front.
Let me know what ya think. I'm super Pleased with it so far.

some mandatory flex (It had more but I couldn't find anything to set it on lol)

What are you guys doing for your foams? Cut them? I found some memory foams that fit the xl's but like 60 bux is a retarded price for 4 pieces of foam.
