Default GTG @Batavia Comp Spot Sat. July 24

Thinking about checking out the Batavia comp spot on Saturday, July 24th, just for fun and practice.

Any interest? I prefer earlier than 11, so I can get my crawling in before the temps go up. Thinking of being there at or before 9am.

I'll bring my bag of markers if we want to try a few course setups.

Wish I could... that's a fun spot that is always changing due to flooding.

Nope...cannot make it. Stuck with "family stuff".
- Take sister-in-law to mechanic
- Take Max to the Groomer
- Take Ava to the Vet

I think that I am a taxi service. Maybe later in the day I will get to crawl.

I'll pencil it . Maybe bjoe will give us an update on the water level. If we don't get any more rain, the good parts might be exposed.

I wouldn't hold my breath, I drove along the river between Illinois St. in St. Charles and Rt38 (Roosevelt Rd) in Geneva tonight after work to meet my folks and sister at Skippy's Gyros on Randall Rd and it was at least 1' over the banks in several spots and completely covering the bike path along that stretch of the river in several spots. I don't think I've been there since April, let me know next time you want to try and make it over, hopefully I'll have the chance to meet you guys there

BTW, on a side note. I took this picture this morning as I was heading out the door on my to work at 9:10am, it was completely empty when I left for work at 1:30pm Friday afternoon

I did not even attempt going. With the overnight storms I knew the water would be high.

I was down at the Fox river yesterday in Algonquin, river was way down, anybody check out the Batavia spot lately to see if it was accessible?

btw, there is some mild crawling spots available at 31 and Algonquin Rd, along the feeder creek that runs through park on the south side of bridge below the dam, and on the west side of 31.

Right about here: MAP

I was in Algonquin earlier today and saw the spot on the river. Looks like a good spot to run the scalers.

I would guess Batavia levels should be going down soon as well.

It wasn't all that bad when Dad and I stopped by on Monday, I just may run by there this monday to see how it is now. We've gone long enough without rain that it should be even lower. I did stop by there a couple weeks ago and teh water was a little higher, and had about 2 dozen young ducks and their mothers playing/sunning/eating on the dam and shale

Went over today and the water was low enough that I could beat the hell out of my Axial And break my WK.

Yea, broke the Axial 3 link Y piece on the front axle, should have a spare or two to use as well as the longer Crawler King V shaped piece. I also stripped the servo on my LCC over by the windmill

Got the servo fixed. Turns out I stripped teeth of one of the brass gears in it, so I just spun it 180* and put it back together, works fine now
