| Re: RECON G6 Challenge No worries. The Wraith Class is the fastest growing class in the G6! I just give them a hard time about running 2.2 Tires, but Wraiths work really well and we have some bad a$$ Wraith G6'ers. Not to mention, they Terra-X very well, too! |

I might be interested in this, it's far enough out I could plan for it. maybe carpool down and camp?? not sure how well my rigs will qualify though........... is there a detailed vehicle guide lines somewhere? wheel base, designation of "scale" Last edited by Docwolf; 07-11-2012 at 10:02 AM. |

it would appear that the rules are pretty open, i have requested some clarification. entry fee is a bit steep, but it could be a lot of fun too. I don't see what all the entry gets or what the purse is. if anyone is interested in this, i will get as much info as I can. maybe we can use a certain somebodies Odyssey Van to go done as group in. *wink wink*

so it looks like there are no restrictions on drive train or wheelbase. the scale items seem to be the most harped on rule.

I think we should have at least 4 guys total to go to split fuel cost. primitive camp sites are 10 bucks a night, I am trying to find out if that is per tent or per site and if it is per site, how many tents can be set up on a site. keep in mind this will be the end of September, though it will be about 400 miles south. it will be cooler, not sure if it will be too cold to camp, though some claim it is never too cold to camp lol, but maybe a camper would be nice to have, RV sites do appear to go fast at this place. I have access to one RV, but she is a old late 70's Chevy unit and drinks gas. I am thinking 4 day trip, drive down Friday, hang out Saturday and Sunday leave Monday morning to come back. though I don't know how much activity there will be Sunday, looks like it could wrap up around 10 am and we could head back then. shows 8 hrs drive time, I know if I am driving I could do it in 7.

You are correct, sir. The G6 has guidelines that change from event to event. That is part of the fun, but there are 4 rules that never change! No "Hand of God". If your rig is over turned or stuck, use your winch or your tow strap in a scale fashion to extract yourself. A fellow G6'er can help you, as well. Using your tow strap in a scale fashion to get your rig out of trouble is the only penalty. A driver must continue through a trail marker in the intended direction. You can't "clear" a trail marker and then reverse through to avoid a trail section. All driving skill sections are mandatory even if there is no trail marker to drive thru. And the last rule is the one we enforce the most...HAVE FUN! I hope this helps and the G-Crew is looking forward to seeing ya'll getting your scaler fix, in the Superlift Southern Showdown G6! | |

I would love to go, but won't for a few reasons... I live paycheck to paycheck, and coming up with money (for an entry fee/gas/food/etc.) would be difficult for me. I doubt I can free up any funds I am out of vacation time at work, and the boss would basically tell me to scew off if I asked My rig is WAAAAAY under par. With all my sketchy electronics, my lack of a decent body, and the fact that 1.9 boggers aren't too great, I doubt I'd do too well I hate camping. I used to go camping all the time when I was younger, in boy scouts... it's just not my cup of tea. I like my showers and mattresses! That sounds like one hell of a roadtrip. I may get homesick do I need any more excuses? whoever goes, have fun and post pics! |

Hey guys, I just moved back to the Wichita area from the Lake Tahoe area where I ran the G6 series along with some others. I will definitely be trying to make this. Looks like your first event went well, I'll be watching for your next event.

If Pedlhed is up for car pooling with strangers, that is three people. Anyone else interested? Should start getting plans made now.
