| 14mm or 17mm hexes?
first of all i searched thru all ten pages and then used the search button with different words and couldnt find anything. so my question is does anyone know of any hexes that are 14mm or 17mm and will work with the stock shafts, because i plan on buying some of the xvd's for it, which are like the stockers. |

The savage 14mm and 17mm hexes fit. The stock Kyosho pin is too long, and you have to shim them a little bit, but they work. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXMDB3&P=7 - 17mm http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXDLE6&P=7 - 14mm |

The 17mm hex set that have come with every set of axial 40 series wheels work great for me (had quite a few just laying around). The shaft size and the pin length were the only two catches, but were very easily fixed with a drill. Drilling the axle shaft hole to clear the axle, then using a small drill bit to lengthen the pin slot (used a bit with the same diameter as the pin, and drilled one hole at either end of the existing pin slot). Took maybe 5 minutes start to finish. |
