| Bobbed Deuce 2.2 with Kyosho Twin Force Axles
hey guys, some of you may have saw my tease about starting a new build. well here goes nothing. starting the slow build of a 2.2 scaler. planned setup will be... Gonna use that homemade Tube body i made and go for the Duece & 1/2 look, chopped to two axles of course. axles are gonna be some narrowed TF axles. probably around some wraith width. wheels are gonna be some custom jobbers so i can fit the 17mm hubs. still looking for this setup though. chassis makin a twin rail from scratch. just bent it up tonight. 1/2 steel. gonna start the hack saw and dremmel this week and should be split in a couple days. pretty much gonna be hackin and filin for a couple weeks while parts come in on the budget but excited to get this going. A Bobbed Duece? This is SICK. Would be very cool if you could figure out some airbag suspension in the rear and leaf or coil in the front. Looks GREAT so far |

hey guys, got a little work done. got the chassis rails split. i used a basic dremel with the new EZ lock and 1.5" cutoff wheels. went through 4 of them, but it actually worked a lot better than i thought. and was def easier than a hack saw. also got the axle stubs from SuperShafty and got the axle mocked up. from hub to hub they are 240mm, a wraith is about 250mm. so i tihnk this might be good for now. do you guys think this is too wide?? or should i just go for it?? |

That EZ-Lock system is the bomb Judging by the looks of the bed i'd say they look wide enough but like Bart said "Mock it up" & lets see Regards Rick |

Hmmmmm........... Off the top of my head How about a small piece of angel aluminum coming off the top hole of lower link mount and aim it back towards the axle Or a piece of 1/4 delrin in the shape of an "L" but turn it side ways so that the "L" is laying across the top of the axle and the other part of the "L" bolts to the lower link Oh Wait !!!!! Your not using Lower Link mounts.....Duhhhh OK......just use a small piece of delrin and curve it out to match the curve of the axle Then bolt it to the axle and attach your leaf spring to the flat part of the delrin I can draw you something up if I'm not explaining my self..... yeeah, guess i will have to use the ones in the mail to supplant other builds. i tihnk i get it. i think it would be like having something like your servo mounts but only 1/2" long. i might be able to get something like that going tomorrow. at least i can start making some beta versions out of some cutting board. guess who bought a nice 15/16" forsner bit the other day just for this type of scenario. i can have this part mocked up very soon now!! then its making some shackles. you explained yourself very well. not sure why i didnt think of it since i bought the tools to make something like that already. next will be getting some leafs that i think are tough enough, anyone have experience with that type of scale building.? oh speng most of tonight lining things up for wheelbase, and just staring at this thing thinking about either a transfer case, front mounted tranny, long long driveshafts then getting the servo mount done. all sorts of fun. WB is right at 13" so might stick with something like that, but its probably gonna be different than that. oh and kinda like this really simple look! As it sits on the table there, I'd say your axles are still gonna be too wide. Unless you want the tires sticking out some. Hmm, you sitting at 10 1/2-11" axles. They could go narrower but that'll take some custom shafts.

that are actually 9.25 from mounting hub to mounting hub. but yeah might be a tiny bit wide. but i am not gonna cut them down til i get some wheels and tires in stock. so next big purchase is gonna be for some custom wheels... anyone making some? |

Loving that body MJ. I, too, would vote to narrow the axles, but waiting for wheels first makes sense. Didnt Rick just make some 12mm hexes for TF axles? |

It would be sweet to use mad force axle and make a top loader axle like the Rockwell for a more scale look.
