Default M-715 Kaiser Supershafty style

this is as far as i have gotten. researched pictures...

i know its kinda a tease, but i am going to build this for the 1.9 8.25 axles. just cant stop building now. it has some nice simple lines that wont be hard to make a chassis for, and just looks mean. should also look great next to Bob.

so this is the look i will be going for. but something a little more colorful. can't do OD with everything.

they go well together

Should be fun the lines dont look that bad to me. I'll prob go through alot of tin though!
That one is nice buts its also not an original m715. Its a concept from a few years ago. But looks awesome either way.

doin some test bends today, making a prototype side panel. weird thing is this. real thing has a wb of 130" so 1/10 would be 13" right? not outta the question at all,

so i am making all my measurements based on a 3 view drawing i have using Google Sketchup. at 1/10th, its huge, just the cab would be 10.5" long, so i went closer to 1/11 scale, and it still might be big, you can see the ruler. might need to go smaller still. i think hobby 1/10th is closer to 1/12 of real life, but oh well.

how do the bends look? just wanted to see how it could be done. this is the same stuff i was using for Bob's body, just aluminum flashing. i think i am gonna get some .0005 SS for this build though little tougher, and wont crack when i bend it.

happy easter too man!!!

thanks again, you give me too much credit, all i use is a little pair of pliars and some snips that were my poppopps, they are def older than me, probably two me's. this is def the prototype bending since the aluminum breaks easy on really sharp bends. I am gonna do some stainless steel, and give it some duplicolor car paint, with a clear coat. its gonna look like a new car when its all painted.

thinking of doing much more realistic doors and hood compared to Bob. gotta get some little doll house hinges, and other things. but its gonna be sweet.

for some reason the grill looks like the easiest part of the thing! its more or less flat.

here are some more pics. put some 2.2's there to show the size of the thing. gonna use 1.9's for this build, but these are the tires i had from Bob.

def. diggin the look of the thing so far!

thanks man, that came together ALOT faster than i thought. but i guess i was thinking about how to do it for a couple days now. now i need to get some stainless steel, or just regular steel sheets. the alum is .02" you think i will be able to bend .01 steel as easily?

wow thanks man, i really appreciate it! not bad for a prototype

i added a slight middle crease to the middle of the hood too. the real one has it. the hood also isnt a big rectangle, its kinda pointed, so i hav to work that into the next one i make.

for only a couple minutes of work, and not a ton of effort this somehow came to shape pretty well. can't wait til this weekend when i can get to Homedepot, get some chassis rail material, some new un tarnished flashing. also gotta get some stuff for the roll cage part of it.

looks like you found it man! should be making some new panels this weekend. maybe a tad bigger, and more bends and things around the corners so i can put it all together.

thanks man, just geting my list of things required for this build done, and tomorrow morning when its pay day orders will go out

if i "borrow" parts from th BYB, big orange one, i should have a roller in a couple weeks!. i tihnk tires and wheels are gonna be the biggest investment. just need to pull the trigger on the wheels. have no idea what i want. the different steelies from rc4wd are all pretty awesome, but the militants, and hummer wheels would just look awesome, but they are twice the money.

so i remade the panels to true 1/10th scale. its gonna be 8" wide at the hood. seems a ton bigger than the deuce, but that is kinda smaller than it seems in real life too. should have somce pics up tomorrow.

then i need to make the chassis rail. i ordered some 3/16 steel tube, not brake line, so i can make a cage under the panels, and make the roll bars for the roof. also debating on making doors out of the panels, or using the tube to make some tube doors, like one of the pics above.
