Default Mad Force / Twin Force, same axles/gearing?

My LHS has a madforce for sale for $250, and since I haven't been able to find a single twinforce for sale at any of the hobbyshop's I look online for, I'm not sure what to do. Does the MadForce and Twinforce have the same axle assemblies, or is one weaker than the other, etc..? I figure I can part out the radio system and motor for at least 150. Let me know what you guys think I could do, or show me where I can get a TwinForce from :/
Thanks,
JohnR

there are a few differences, but the parts are all interchangeable. Unless you hold both types of axles in your hand, you would never know it. I think the mad force comes with a hardened rear pinion and ring, aluminum front. The twin force comes with both steel pinion / ringsets i think. At any rate you will want to shim the diffs properly.

The diffs / knuckes/ outputs are 1/8th buggy as well, so you can find replacement parts everywhere. On my mad force axles I swapped the outer stubs and knuckles with Savage ones. Now maxx rims bolt up. Otherwise you gotta deal with the hugo stub.

Twin Force has aluminum ring and pinions and the Mad Force has the steel.

Not necessarily, the Twin tranny is VERY stout. The 8mm outputs and chain drive is,IMHO,near bullet proof. Also, the design of the tranny is very simple. With a little imagination it can be modded HEAVILY to fit just about any chassis you could dream up. I know I've come up with many different ideas on how I could use the parts to build alot of different set ups. Unlike many trannies out there that are in a sealed gearbox that your kindly stuck with it's shape and size, the Twin tranny can be taken apart and rebuilt in a completely a$$ backards way you just took it apart as.

As for the Mad tranny,I've never seen one in person. I'd like to just to see if theres any possabilities. I believe it might be a decent unit.

Nope, the Mad front is a steel helical cut gear and the rear is aluminum. The Twin is aluminum front and rear

x-factor and twin force axle housings are they interchangable? I reaworked my friends x-factor and except for the nasty square housing the truck turned out great....
