My new Twin Force build. I've not really ever done a build up thread. I'm taking my time with this one. Hopefully I'll have it RTR before next season. Here's a few pictures to start out with..... I still need my electronics, tires,CVD's and a tranny. I think I'm going to try a sprung Hustler this time. After I get everything in there,it should settle down a bit. If not,I'll try me some softer springs. |

Looking good. My hustler will see a similar fate. I am going to attempt to cut and braze a set of cvd's soon. I'm waiting on the wheels so I can determine the width. It should work just like sweating copper pipe I guess. |

Steve, Looks great. Put some side panels in the belly of the chassis and run the Twin trany like I did in my Corn Dog 2 build. I'm changing a couple of things on it but it's still basically the same.

I'm gonna be trying something different If it won't hold up,I'll put a Twin tranny in the belly. I've got 2 spare Twin trannies just incase. |

| I'll stick with my true colors.....Kyosho buggy stuff I worked on it a bit last night. Think I'm going back to droop. Looks MUCH better. Gotta new set of servo mounts made up and the holes drilled for my tranny. I'll try to get a few pictures later on today. Waiting on the tranny parts before I install it though. Had to scrap the servo mounts. They were hitting my shocks. Got a few ideas though. I'll get some more material from work and whittle me out some different mounts. I've trimmed my steering stops off plus some of the axle tube. Still had more throw in the axle joint. I then ground down some of the steering arm on the knuckle. I FINALLY ran out of throw Each tire will turn a shade more than 45 degrees. Good thing I can only run a 6" tall tire on this baby. The 6" tires I have now are rubbing BAD at full lock Might have to LIMIT my steering I had all stock Kyosho knuckles on in the above pictures. Twin Force in the front and Mad Force in the rear. The Mad Force knuckles have stubby steering arms and wouldn't work anymore. I swapped out for some X-Factor knuckles and it's golden. |

XRRA, sweet. Gaining a little ground clearance in the rear turning the knuckles that way. What is the blue tubing/wire for? Is there a front dig on this 2.2? Raptorman, What, no new progress pics:-(. You gonna show us any of those new skills in this build? Last edited by Bart bender; 12-09-2007 at 03:48 PM. |

Still waiting on my tranny parts to be built and my motor thats going in it. I've tinkered with it some but have been busy with other projects. Once I get my tranny parts and my new wheels,it should go together pretty quick. I'll have to get me a 3 cell lipo as well......maybe a 4 cell It'll be ready to kick ass next season | |

Are you worried about loosing strength in the front of the chassis by removing the center brace? I was debating cutting it out of mine but I figure it will bend. I trimmed tray the brace attaches to in 1/2 for drive shaft clearance. I already bent the rear of the chassis. Granted I'm using TXT axles but its very similar to this build 14r, regularly sprung, super hustler chassis and what not.

I'm not overly concerned about it. I can always add a brace if it becomes an issue.

Ditched the family so I could work on my rig today. Here's a few update pictures. For some reason...I really like this picture. Not really sure if I'm gonna stay with the Badlands yet. Theres absolutly no foam at all in these pictures. If I do stay with the Badlands, they definitly need to be narrowed. WAY to wide for my taste. I have a couple different tire options I may try to build before it's over with. Got my 3 cell lipo to mount up in the nose on the upper links and build my driveshafts. A couple different motor options I wanna try but they aren't in my possention at the moment. If everything falls into plan,I might be able to get a shakedown run in a few weeks. Looks like you have your tranny in there now. I can't quite tell what it is from the pix. Can you tell us what it is or is that a big secret? Nice job though. I have always enjoyed your rigs, and I have to admit I have stolen an idea or two for my twin. |
