| Need Roll Cage for Willy's
Can anyone point me in the direction of someone who can weld (not braze) a cage for a Willy's 1/6 jeep for me? I've had a couple of bad experiences with vendors so I'm hoping you guys can point me in the direction of someone who does good work for reasonable prices. If this should be moved somewhere else, let me know. I tried to go into the vendor section but I can't post there since I'm not a vendor. Basically I'm looking for something like this: Last edited by nickvig; 08-24-2010 at 06:55 PM. |

He was talking about possibly doing some stuff to sell if there was a call for it. Couldn't hurt to try him. I would sure as #€££ let him build me a cage for one.

I have no idea if that's a scout. Both of those pics are from a site I found that sells roll cages for Cj's and Willys. The one issue I have is I really would like to have it made out of aluminum tubing, not steel rod. I don't know many people who like (can) weld aluminum with good results. |

Better baby it with an alum cage. Take a good tumble and JOE will need the jaws of life to get the cage off him.

Well we were trying to avoid custom builds...but that one is pretty simple. My friend Rich fabricates the accessories, and I'm working on the production end of things. We're thinking of 2 or 3 versions of the cages and stingers...so the customer can mix and match. 1/4, 3/16, 1/8 steel tubing for the cages solid steel rod for the stingers Remember these Jeeps weigh alot ...it's what makes them crawl so well and look so real. The cages, stingers and sliders protect the rig just like the real thing. I'll talk to Rich and see how much. |

Dave, we've met at RCP. My buddy Linx got the steering wheel from you (or maybe Rich?) and a cage from Fletch. Shoot me a PM so we can discuss it.

If you could ZoSo, please do me the same, as I am looking for a cage, maybe a stinger, and whatnot for my willy's. Oh man, and by the way, I wish someone would have told me how easy these Willy's Jeeps are to work on. What a well crafted body, easy to disassemble and work on. I am just waiting on one body to get done from Stang Killa SS for my 1.9er and then I can use the leftovers to work on the Willy's. | |

nice to see the interest problem is the SoCal guys are buying them up faster than poor Rich can make them. Rich plans to sell them on Ebay so keep an eye out for Willys Accessories |

I'd be really interested in one of the front bumper extensions w/ the grill guard, not the stinger. I'm out of OX and I can't find those small red canisters ANYWHERE, it seems that they just aren't available any more, so I can't do any more brazing right now.

Caliking...I think the earlier GI Joe Jeeps are wider at the wheel wells and so is the aftermarket Jeep. I don't think they are interchangable. I'll try to borrow one from a friend and compare the two. |
