| What shocks to use ?
I'm working on a 1/6 Willy's Jeep and was wondering what shocks to use on it. It will be configured as a regular ol rock crawler. Using Wheelie King axles. I want to mount the upper portion of the shocks on the inside skirt of the wheel wells. Any suggestions for mounting locations within the wheel well are welcome... Thanks! |

Stock SCX10 units on my Willys, they work surprisingly well. And there's a crap-load of different spring weights available to fine-tune things...

I use the rc4wd dual spring 110mm blue shocks. They are a good length but they stick a little bit, if there was no stick they'd be perfect in my opinion.

I too have found that the SCX10 daul rates are good on large scale. I started off with a set of them on Big Blue, and I am now using them on the rear of The SS. I intend to use them on the front of the 2002 avalanche. You can get stiffer or lighter springs too. They are a great budget build schock.

I run g transition 1/8 scale shocks in droop on my Willy's with wraith axles and about 8 ounces in each tire and they work awesome. I run them upside down too to keep them from weeping :( but overall they work really well. My rig is also 14.5 lbs
