I did think about sway bars. I wont be doing anything until my tower hobbies order shows up and I find more free time. The rear still doesnt have shocks or lower mounts. And I need to open up the wheel openings some.

What Tekin brushless set up do you have exactly?

While I was placing my tower order the other night I was looking at random parts wondering if I could use them for a dual lower shock mount. Sure I could make something, but if I could open a package and bolt something on and make it go just that much faster I would. So I came across some xr10 chassis shock mounts.

And guess what...they bolted right up. I needed them on the side of the axle link mounts so that the lower shock mounts where in line with the upper mounts.

Still need to tweak one of the shocks that I can get more down travel. With how they are mounted one is keeping the other from having 3/8" of its travel.

You are building the truck I have been dreaming about for a couple years now: Large scale, TIG'd Aluminum cage/chassis, 4x4, IFS ...except no IFS on yours. It's not too late to add IFS!

Where did you get all the Aluminum tube from?

local hardware store, in this case OSH. I should of ordered some that wasnt coated. It would make the welding that much better.

Time for an update....

I was checking out the vanquish rigid led lights awhile back and thought one of them would look cool on this. Finally I was able to order one when they where in stock. Got a 6" black one last week. Dug the raptor down and screwed it on.

While I had it out and was messing with it, I cut the hood out. The body is going to be screwed down to the chassis and to get the battery out you take the hood off.

And then I got back to adding some tube in. The rear needed some more strength to keep stuff from moving around. Also got a spot to mount the "fuel cell".

This is a very sweet build. Looks like a million dollar tuck. As for fast I doubt that it could do a 1/4 speed of a brushless losi 5ive. I have custom trophy truck and it really is fast!
Really is a great build though and looking forward to it completion, and maybe some video?

Yeah a Losi 5ive is fast and then converted to brushless is crazy. Im just hoping this is faster then most of my crawlers, or at least fun to drive.

I have gotten a few projects out of my life and now Im thinking about finishing up several things that have been laying around. One being this thing. Pull it off the shelf over the weekend and tried to start finishing things off before I take it apart to weld up and then put it back together.

Needed to add some kind of protection for the light bar. This thing will be upside with the way I drive. Also reworked the front bumper around another light bar.

I love that you used aluminum. Something other than brazed brake line. I wish I could weld aluminum like that.

Yeah I wanted something out of the normal brake line or steel tubing. This aluminum hasn't been easy to work with. I shouldn't have bought hardware store tubing that had a coating on it. Then there is the welding. Using the smallest tungsten I have, I have to tack it quickly or run the risk of melting the tube away. I've gotten OK at it with having about half a dozen tubes disappear while trying to tack them in. Most of the tube is really 1/4" solid which helps till you need to weld something thin to it. But its coming along. Tore it apart 2 nights ago and have been welding it up. Almost time to put it together and see how it drives.

Well its together and driving. Not as fast as I wouldve hoped but I didnt put a pro4 motor in yet. just a novak one I had laying around.

Its drives pretty good. A few things I want to change. I need to mess with the springs and shocks a bit. The rear isnt really active, if you lift it up its not falling down quick at all. Front is pretty much sitting at full bump, just need to play with the shock mounts a bit. And it needs stiffer foams in a bad way. It did turn out to be heavy but it is big and does have 6 wheels and tires. Theres 4 AA batteries in the fuel cell for the truck lights, but they are not all wired yet. Ive only driven it a bit and need to take it out more.

This is in my trash pile out back.

Trick that rear end out and install a cantilever suspension system! The revo parts is what I used. I went with some aluminum arms though. Very responsive with stiff springs!

That would really set it off!

Thats cool. Not what I was going after tho. I honestly dont even know if there is fluid in the shocks.
