Default My other 1/6 Wrangler

Hi

Maybe some of you have already seen my orange colored Wrangler I reportet about here.
That one was actually my second built on a chassis that was originally intended for the body I'm telling you about in this thread.

Since both bodies had been identical New Bright bodies, it was no big deal to use the same chassis for both and made the bodies interchangeable.

It all startet with an unfinished project I had taken over from a friend.
He had built a new chassis frame for the NB body.

But I wasn't too happy with it. Too high and also the links didn't really look scale.

So I made new links, repositioned the shocks and voila...

On the search for the wright wheels I came along Nylint Tires. Unfortunately they were not available in Germany, either new or usd. So I had to by some used ones in the US which set be back $100 becaus of the horrendous shiping costs.
But they were worth it...

So this week I was able to finish it.

Here's the chassis, complete with electronics:

And here the complete rig:

Arni is driving it...

...not without his gun...

I added a winch from a Bruder toy, that I repainted. Also, all lights including dashboard illumination work ...

The original jerrycan was too small so I replaced it with one left from my Dragon Willys Jeep kit.

As for the performance, it drives like a dream. The Coldbuster axles are doing there job as the should to, the tires have the necessary grip and for a scaler it has great crawler characteristics. I'm more than satisfied with it.

Hope you like it!

Tom

Unfortunately, I had a bad mishap...

While supergluing a wire on the underside of the body, some superglue was running through the body directly onto the windshield...

By the time I noticed that, it was too late.
I was so mad at myself, that for some reason, my fist collided with the windshield...

I leave it like this for now since it's a pain in the but to get to the glass insert.
And before I start cutting an new one, I will try to find a replacemen from another New Bright Jeep.
But this will not be easy, since they have never been sold here in Germany.

Maybe one of you guys can help me with that and keep your eyes open for me. If one of you finds one, I'll pay for it and shipping, of course.
That would be great!

Tom

Check on ebay since I don't think, they are still available new.
You need to look for 1/6 New Bright jeep. There should be plenty, usually available for under $100

Sorry about your windshield. That must have been a perfect karate chop you did there!

Btw it's not a new bright jeep. It's a Weiler 8888b.

I'm digging the boom stick on the dash. You've done well but you have to avoid putting the smack down on your RC.

That is an odd looking winch - Not even sure what the 1:1 version of that is.

Is that a common brand in Europe? I looked on fleabay and didn't see anything by that name.
