Hope to make a scale replica of my 1:1 Got a new bright body off eBay Started acquiring parts: Wraith axles Ax10 trans 2.2 TSLs Hemi Ax10 beadlocks 1/2" square tubing for the frame I picked up the measurements for a 1:1 frame and used that to make a scale frame Used a wraith skid but added 3" to the middle of it. Mocking up ride height. Needs to be low since the tires come out to be 32" tall I need to braze the rear crossmember on, and shorten the front of the frame still. I need to figure out the electronics and driveshafts as well. |

Decided that my tires came out too small, so I bought a set of 6.5" TSLs from the classifieds, and they scale out to a 39" tire, which is way cooler! when I got the tires they were glued on a 3.8" wheel, which was way too big, so I cut up a set of swamp dogs for their sidewalls and now have a 6.5" 2.2 TSL. This is my first set of modified tires, so they look a little barbaric. I've always wanted a AEV heat reduction hood, but cant spend $800 on a hood when mine works just fine. It's way cheaper to build on this scale and that's what I've done! |

Thats really neat how you did the tires!! Did you just glue them in place? How are they holding up?

yea they are just glued. I haven't tested them yet, but people have been running modded tires like this for a long time and seem to hold up nicely!

That Hemi is diecast right? It says it weighs 1.1 pounds. Won't it make your truck a lil front heavy or do you plan on balancing it out?

The block is metal, but the rest is plastic. It doesn't weigh anywhere near a pound. This thing is gonna weigh a ton when I get done, so it should all balance out.
