That's sharp Irish, and when you put the shovel in front of it..WOW!!, it really puts it in perspective, I didn't realize how big it really is. I haven't weighed mine yet, but I'm sure it's going to be heavier when I get the rollbars and bumpers on it. I'll have to check it this weekend. As far as transmission and gear ratios, whatever is stock on a Ridgecrest. I'm using the stock wraith axles and transmission that came from my Ridgecrest.

Thanks, yea it's huge! I don't know where to keep it, right now it's taking our cars spot in the garage.

I think the Ridgecrest is 2.6:1.

Those shackles look like the same ones I picked up from the hardware store the other day. Who ya going to get to drive it? I have a Cryptkeeper, but I'll have to heat up his elbows and knees to get the right bend for sitting in the Jeep's seat, or I'll just wait 'til I find a Joe.

I picked the shackles up for $2 each at R&E Fastners, I was worried the were going to be too big but they almost look too small.
I haven't given much thought to a driver really, I need to make or find a seat and a driver next.

My 2.5 year old son can ride this beast, he sits on the flatbed and uses the stacks as handle bars. Pictures and video to follow. :-)

How would one go about controlling a 12v dc Linear Actuator? Would a winch controller work?
This is the one I'm looking at.

Well it's sitting right under 55lbs right now, I still have to add a rear bumper and a couple other small things, if the slipper holds up I'll start worrying about the transmission maybe? Obviously if I "bashed" it I'd start to break things but I'm hoping that with using it for slow things the actual shock and force on the weak points won't be as great as say; a wheelie or back flip or landing a jump on the throttle. I'd think these things put more force than towing or plowing even with the weight and traction of this rig.
On a side note, how much wider do you think I should make the plow then the widest point? It's 24" wide at the dually wheels, I was thinking a 32" wide plow would be perfect, 30" min, but I think 36" is probably too wide, it sure would look cool though. :-)
Shovels seem to come in 30" and 36".

I think you'ld be safest with the 30" plow blade. I plow snow and the blade is always wider than the width of the truck so that when it is angled, it covers the width of the truck.

On the next post, it appears you have locked down the slipper. All my trucks run a locked trans, I never saw any reason on a slow moving truck to need a slipper, I thought that was for faster moving RC's that jump and bash.

Agreed on the plow width, I checked the width when angled and it still is a couple inches wider than the widest part of the truck.

I wish I had just locked the slipper right off. I was going to try it and forgot, got wrapped up trying to find a slipper that could take the weight for more then a few minutes and ended up wasting approx $100, many hours of tooling and lost out on a weekend of rc fun on the California coast, all because of the damn slipper. :-( I'd drives so much nicer now too!
Thanks again for your input Flea.

I like what you've done with the floor pan. It gives you a nice clean location for the electrics and the fenderwells will help keep it all cleaner than if you didn't have them.

Thanks, there's something about being able to see through the wheel wells that I just don't like. :-) it should really help with dirt and snow too. I'm planning on putting the electronics in a Tupperware with tubes going to each exhaust stack and a fan circulating air in through one and out the other. :-) that's the plan anyway. I'll be good for about 15-18" of water.

Went trick or treating tonight with my wife and son, 1.5 miles, 1250mah used, average watts 59, max 435. 19.8amps max. Max Esc temp 106.8. Motor I'm guessing 105-115. Total payload was only about 90lbs. Next time I'll try to get the wife to ride in the wagon too. Lol.
The reactions we got were great, from kids running over and trying to climb in to dads going WOAH, that's awesome then whispering to their wife, honey we should get one of those and even cars following us. Too fun.

I don't want to start a new thread for the vehicle these are going on but I had to share, these things are bigger than any RC tire I've ever seen. They're RC4WD 40 series Demolishers.

What size? & are they for the 6x6? That tire is as wide as the G6. To put it more into perspective, line it up next to the tire on the Radio Flyer.

They're right about 9.75" tall, if I had of seen them before they probably would be on the 6x6 instead of going dually, it actually would have been cheaper than the 10 tires currently on there. :-)

I'm really on a "BIG" kick lately, man! :-)

They're going on the monster truck that I used to first build the 6x6, I wish I had some big solid axles to pair them up with but no. It'll still be a cool truck though, It'll have locked diffs and four wheel steering, it'll be great fun!
10" tall wagon wheel

8.26" tall rc4wd rock crusher

Here's the truck they'll be going on
