Default Traxxas X-Maxx

Not truly scale, but close. Pretty cool technology built in.

I see some things I could at to my parts bin. Would like to see this up against a Yeti Xl. Now HPI needs a massive truck.

I like the looks, suspension and size. If i didn't have such a bad experience with my LCG Ass i would consider it. Could you imagine what an aftermarket motor mount would cost for that. Why so complicated?

I'll save my $$ for the Kraken.

What I like. The Diffs, The tires, clutch,esc-motor and the shocks. What I don't like: the weight being mostly in the rear, the lipos sits above center line of the wheels and the transmission I don't care for the body also.
What I want to do with it.... rebuild the whole thing using the parts I like and build a new chassis using a Summit transmission and a shorter wheelbase of 17.5'' and adding a buggy body. I'm thinking of the Kyosho 1/8 buggy body this time. The chassis will be made of carbon fiber to keep the weight down and it looks cool.

Surprisingly the Xmaxx doesn't weigh much more then the yeti, it doesn't feel like it any way, it's just bigger to carry and more cumbersome.

My YXL with batteries weighs 13.6lbs. That is a huge difference from 19.1lbs on the Tmaxx with or without batteries.

So far, seeing the videos on YT it looks painfully slow. I haven't seen one in person but the size seems very interesting. Wish you could run a bigger motor but that goofy motor mount seems like it may never happen unless the aftermarket comes alive.

Sounds your your enjoying yours and that's the biggest thing.

Go on the traxxas forums! A guy has put a 8s set up in his I believe the 2028 castle motor with the 8mm shaft! He had to modify the motor mounts, chassis slightly and the upper brace for the chassis.

The video is nuts.

I built the buggy that will give it a go. I'm currently getting parts to build a 1/6 scale Jeep that also will give the X-Maxx a go also.

Other then the fail being a fire here...so is the idea of unplugging this truck as soon as he had the chance but left it going. Haha

looks more like an erevo than tmaxx chassis design.. should be a fun base for a build!
