| Transfer case?
The project I am working on, I need a transfer case. Got any ideas on what would be small and work?

What about a micro-t transmission? Remove the spur and motor mount and then...

| Me too. I'm looking at some of my burnt out winches i have around. Gearboxes on those may offer the reduction for brushless also? I have x mod first gen that looks like he may donate some useful parts. If you come up with something please share its holding my build up. Also looking for a way to run pass through drive lines for multi axle |

| http://gcmachine.ca/index.php/rcstuff/4wdtcase I'm not sure if these are into production yet or not. But IIRC you can buy just the case and bearings and stuff it with your own gears, they are just two pinions which works out to 1:1 if you are looking for just a transfer case and not a gear reduction unit. |

X2 on the Micro T case. Motor plate is a separate pc that will come right off. Has drive-cup outputs that you would need to adapt. Not to hard with a pc of steel or alum rod that you slip in, bolt through the CV cup. Ebay whole trans: $14 http://cgi.ebay.com/LOSI-LOSB1511-AS...#ht_1506wt_859 Nice polished alum case for it: http://cgi.ebay.com/Losi-Micro-T-sil...d#ht_963wt_859 Last edited by sweli; 01-07-2010 at 04:27 AM. |

Not promoting another forum or anything but there is another forum with a micro section where guys are mounting the engine in the front and running a driveshaft down to the transmission. They are pulling of some pretty cool "scale4x4rc" builds. |

RC4WD makes a couple T-cases, but they're also far to big for use in a Micro.

I have used the micro-t t-case and the major problem with it is the out drive. If you've ever taken one apart, you've noticed that the differential center is plastic and strips easily. I don't know it anyone makes metal internals for those. The micro crawler t-case would make a nice one since the out drive is one solid piece but it's a crap shoot to get a functioning one. |

Leave the Losi gearbox mounted on the skid. Remove the motor and spur. Mount one of these on the front of a scale chassis: http://www.pololu.com/catalog/category/51 Route a third driveshaft. To figure the ratio to buy, figure out what your pinion spur gave you and come close to that. |
