Default Shock upgrade

I snapped one of my shock shafts whilst taking it off the truck.
I've fashioned a repair using a 1mm pin for now, works ok, but sticks now again when fully extended.

Whilst looking for replacements, I noticed some micro t parts will fit.

Spotted these ''LOSI MICRO-T DESERT ALLOY THREADED SHOCKS LOSB1605''

Thought they'd be good cause you can oil fill them, and run droop

Anyone know if they'll fit or not?

The Losi shocks.....the rears will work though they are considerably shorter than the crawler shocks and this will limit your suspension articulation....I have a set of those shocks but have not tried them because of this.

Aftermarket stuff should be coming soon....until then I have elected to use the stock crawler shocks with the long rear DT springs which give me near full droop with about 1/4 inch of spring....this is just enough to help right the chassis after exiting an obstacle

Not the losi oil shocks ....but I did try the standard DT shocks when I first got my crawler....they were too short, even with four long rears, they really limited the articulation so I switched them back out for the crawler shocks with the shorter springs....much better

These shocks (along with stock microT shocks) do not have a proper rod end on them. They just have an eyelet which works for normal travel but on the crawler you want a ball and rod end so it doesn't bind when the axle articulates. I bought some stock microT shocks just to try out and had to switch the ends out, they just don't allow articulation. These will be the same unless you switch the ends.

Also, I found they were too short and limited articulation too much, but that's all preference and depends on your driving style.

Hi All

The shocks on the Losi Crawler are 42mm eye to eye(centre) and the rear of the DT are 30.5mm and the fronts are shorter at 27mm. The eyelet holes on the DT are also much smaller.

Lets hope Losi or somebody like 3 racing make a compatible set !!!!!!
