Default Is my motor fried [pics]?

Went crawling in the backyard, and all of a sudden the motor stopped working. The ESC lights up fine and didn't get warm and the wires are also fine and the motor was warm, but didn't feel especially burning hot.

The board looks slightly brown/burned but I want to make sure that it's the motor that's burned out and not the ESC. Servo also works fine.

Pics:

Pretty lame though, this is like the 3rd battery pack I've put through it.

I've had a bit of experience testing these motors. I put one on my test machine and put enough load on it to stop the wheels for a brief second. It melted down. The wire is so small and at only 57 turns it just cooks. I would say the motors dead. Just hope the esc is ok. Only one way to know...throw another motor on there. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply, I've read these motors burn out quite fast. I want to make sure it's the motor, but I don't have another motor to try out right now and I'd like to buy one of your 90t Atomic BB motors instead of buying another stock motor.

I have pulled apart the stock ones where the wires were fused into one mass. It's just tough not knowing if the esc is gone too. I have had those go out with no real hits to them too. The only good news is that I have also had stock esc's take major abuse and keep on ticking. It all comes down to your luck...so are you normally a lucky person?

So, my ESC was fine, and I decided to test the voltage at the motor. I connected it to the ESC and pulled the throttle and now it works.

I'm confused but since it works I'll keep it for now. I don't expect this motor to last very long though...
