| Early 90's GMC sonoma scaler
Hey guys just got a micro crawler and it is pretty sweet! played with it for a while and when I looked through my model collection I found and old school sonoma and thought it would be a sweet build. So here it is I'm goin to try and post as many pics as possible any suggestions would be great! Model is a lindberg 1:20 scale gmc sonoma baja I'm going to use the chassis that it comes which seems as if it will be sturdy enough. And this is about the ride height i want it to have: And the wheels under the chasis: The chassis with the tranny mounted I made custon shock mount that were more narrow/ inward of the chassis bc of where the shock mounts on the axles are located: I also bought a set of MT shocks to use, I'm not to worried about twist as long as its scale so i modified the longer ones for the rear a little: If i have enough time tonight i should be done with mounting the rear end and have some what of an idea of how tall the shocks will actually be |

| It must have been me. On Sunday I think. I was watching an auction for a Nissan pick up, but it sold for over 30 bucks. So I got the GMC instead, I knew it wouldn't last long. I'm going to turn mine into an s-10 though.

There's a jeep cherokee?! I want that instead! But actually I've had this kit for a long time I think my dad bought it when it was new. And in the instrutions it says its a 1:20 S-10 baja racer!

I've been thinking of using this body, but I have so many that would look good, jeep j10 pickup, pajero, vw bug, van, bronco I think a few more but they escape me right now. Maybe the el camino with camper would look. I have another box that I need to pick up from my parents.

I also have the 1/20th hilux thats about the same size as the sonoma. im going to go with a brass chassis on that one with leaf springs. this build makes me want to the 3rd micro and get cracking on it. | |

Looks great! I just finished my Silverado 1500 earlier, sits at just over 8.5" long but looks interesting. I was going to do a Sonoma but imo the Silverado just looks more "truck looking" if you know what i mean. Looking forward to updates though, what are your estimates on length of it?
