| 1960 Chevy pickup on a U-Trail
Heres what im starting with, a losi micro crawler, a u-trail and a 1960 chevy model got the u-trail put together test fitting the driver test fitting the cab i had to extend the rear links so i used some brass i had laying around heres a few pics after the wheel base was extended and the bed was test fitted as you can see the width is perfect, I think im gonna try a real wood bed floor Just had to set behind the wheel, I think im gonna get my legs amputated to fit Next up is t make the upper links, and trim the cab floor and start on an interior. Oh yea i got to get a new shock, and resolder a motor wire. The paint scheme is up in the air right now. I havnt decided on a show truck or a rusted out beater. I think that will depend on how well the paint turns out, if its crappy it will get covered in rust. any way thats it for now. peace Bull |

| I don't get the reasoning for the blue and white letters. But being a Penn State alumni I can appreciate it! ;) But if I only read the white letters it says "nc poet rc". LOL. Cool looking scaler so far. That's a nice year of the Chevy truck. Trucks of the 50s and 60s look so great. |

Can't wait to see this one. I see what's happening here. You and Scaler are gonna make me buy that other bind and drive this week.

Looks great, I was waiting for someone to do a U-Trail(wasn't soon before long!) I prefer my own conversions(Like Scalerlover) but the U-Trail looks nice for the money. And nice driver too Lookin' forward to more updates! -Ian |

Yea i could not wait to get home and tear that truck apart after you kicked my ass with it. It has to be the driver because my comp truck climbs a hell of a lot better than the one i just tore down. Neo, your gonna have to buy the BND, you can run your party time cruiser body and be king pimp. I just noticed they raised the price on the u-trail from 15 to 20 bucks. I dont know if id pay 20 for it but its worth 15. I dont want to use the chassis that came with the model because i may wanna change bodies and when you are committing the chassis to one specific body it makes it real hard. By using the u trail i can change the body just by switching out the rear links and drive shaft. This is my inspiration, i know its not a 60 but its the same body style. Ill get more done tonight after work at 11 and try to post an update. till next time, Bull |

Sweet inspiration, I had a '66 Stepside that I'm going to try and replicate with Revell's 1/25 scale '65! -val |

but your inspiration is somewhere between 64-66. Not a criticism, I'm sure it'll look great, it was just bothering me since I owned that '66. -val Last edited by LAV25; 02-21-2010 at 04:54 PM. Reason: mistaken model information | |

I know the photo i posted doesnt have the same grill / hood. I pretty much wanna do that paint scheme and that was the only photo i could find of a 4wd fleetside with the tan and cream two tone, thats why its only an inspiration. Besides those early 60s chevys were rare in a 4wd fleetside. I always wanted one but cant find one around here in decent shape. so im gonna build one. Any way i didnt get much done last night just trimming the body here and there to get it to sit on the chassis a little better. I hope to have the interor fiitted tonight and may mount the body to the chassis. Later Bull. |

Got some more done today Made the Hub caps fit the Losi wheels Got the floor trimmed to fit over the tranny, not that noticable with the seat in dash mocked in through the windshield the chrome on the front end I love this angle and one nose to nose with my micro wedge Next is to start painting. Dont have the colors i need so i cant start that untill i get them Monday. I also have to find some thin balsa for the bed floor and tool box. Hopefully the next update will be a great looking paint job. If not its gonna rust. Bull |

Looking great! My bad on the year information, I didn't realize you were using the inspiration pic for the paint job. I don't know how far into the perfect scale side of things you want to go, but I was doing research for my project and found this site: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/forumdisplay.php?f=6 which has a ton of pics and other resources that might help. -val |

I got a lot done today dash is finished Here it is installed in to the interior Got it painted too here's my front body mount I still have to do the rear body mount, thats why the truck sits a little lower in the rear, its off the thickness of the velcro. i just dont have any more velcro. I also need velcro for the hood as well That pretty much does it except for the bed floor, making the upper links, and extending the drive shaft. Oh yea, its gonna rust. |

Looks good. You can't find models anymore. Go figure? I grew up building them. Wish I had them all back now.

| Lights are done
I got the lights in and working, the head lights are always on and the tails light up on breaking and reverse. Still a good amount of work to get done but its on its way, any way heres the pics I LOVE these shots Just need to find a better way to hold the hood on, raise the bed and make a cap or floor for the bed. then its just details. |
