| DSM vs DSM2?
I just noticed that the micro crawler says DSM on the receiver... does that mean my DX5 wont bind to it? I've been saving up to buy a BND...

I believe there's a difference between surface and air TXs and RXs. They don't mix.

DSM and DSM2 Don't correspond with eachother. I have seen some use a DX6i in say an SC10 or whatever(not SCX10 but SC10) just an example, but they had to use the air rx also. You're best bet would be to go RTR. DSM and DSM2 don't run on the same..you know...I can't exactly word it.

The mcx/msr conroller which is dsm2 will not bind with the micro crawler. And I'm pretty sure I read in the Horizon catalog that the new spectrum controllers would bind to the dsm2 receivers. I'm not 100% this is just my 2 cents. Last edited by Helihover; 03-10-2010 at 08:28 PM. | |

| Thanks for clarifying. I knew the DSM transmitter wouldn't work with the DSM2 RX but wasn't too sure on the other way around. I've seen people run DX7's DX6i's and DX5e's on their surface vehicles btw..

I use BR6000 receivers with my DX6 for my scalers. The BR6000 is a bot receiver and the AR6000 is an air receiver. I believe the only difference is the fail safe mode. I think the bot shuts everything down whereas the air receiver will maintain the last input. Something like that, not exactly sure. I don't believe it is possible to bind a radio with a receiver that doesn't have the same number of channels.

To use an air radio, you have to use an air receiver. And yes, DSM2 surface radios will bind with most DSM surface receivers.
