Default BNR Crawler Concept Body for Losi Micro Crawler

BRN Crawler concept body. Its sitting on a stock wheel base Losi micro crawler. The bodies in the pics are just sitting on the wheels cause the paint was still damp.

Looks like your fender flares are working, sucking those tires up in there like that and allowing you to keep the body low, nice job.

Good lookin' out.
Technically, he didn't say anything about Sales, in this thread - yet. It's gettin' close...

Though I'm not that partial to the Hummer-body, I do kind of like this. In the left profile picture especially, the inside (the under cut) of the fenders/wheel wells appear a little out of square from the top of the wells - is this the body's form, or simply inaccurate cutting on your part (no offense either way)?

Great job. Did you use the "at home vacuum forming method" (more or less)?

Yes he did, in a post you cannot see.

So, Bucknaked you will need to review our rules here.

Sorry guys I didn't see that part of the rules. I was in the wrong. I saw the rules and edited the post. Thanks for the warning guys. I do need to take the dremmel to the fenders and trim them a lil. It was my second pull on the plug and I rushed a paint job on it to see how it look and how it performed. I'm still working on the body mounts. I think I'm going to use the factory body pegs and use a internal hidden body mount simular to what I am running now. I hate when body pegs hang out the side.
Now for the former I'm using a home built vacuum former. The oven sits 2 feet over the a steel platten. And I use a magnetic lock to keep my frames held up to my oven to thermoform the plastic. Then when I pull the form, I use a two stage vacuum system. When the form hits 3 inches of vacuum a electronic switch with actuate and the second stage kickes in and will instantly will hit 28 inches of vacuum from a scavenge tank. I'm still wiring the electronics for the second stage so this is just pulled with a vacuum cleaner motor. I wanted to see what it would do.

Sorry guys I been working alot of hrs lately. But I did take some lower quality videos of the body in action on a stock micro. Only mod is the droop suspension and a single cell 400mah 20c battery. So there is no tire weight and stock foams. Hope you enjoy and I will get some high quality vids up soon.

So, I gotta ask, do those micro heli servos that I have seen you stand up next to the diff housing really have enough torque to turn the wheels properly. If so, any links to the ones you are using. Body looks great too, and seems to fit perfect. Nice design!

Are they as powerful as the factory servo, no. Are they lasting well and enough torque for the micro, yes. Nice part about them is they are little bit slower. They keep you out of trouble, especially off camber. They are not so fast that they roll the vehicle over. The turning radius is much tighter than factory. With the setup I am running they are a perfect match. With front and rear steer front and rear dig, and all the other mods I am still under the factory crawler weight. I have around roughly 40 packs @ 45 minutes per pack on the servos. They have been configured couple different ways, but beside the axil is the way I'm liking them. It took a few hours to get them to work with no bind at any angle from lock to lock but it was well worth it. The servos are http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s..._.11sec_/_3.4g then I added the metal gears off the digital version. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=11236The torque seems under rated on these lil things. I will keep on using them on my competition crawler. I also have the 7 gram blue birds on another crawler. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s..._.13sec_/_7.1gI like them alot too but it has to be mounted on top where the factory servo is.

I really like open top for crawling (1:1) just for vissibility if nothing else and I am not a huge fan of the Hummer for the micros just because I am sick of seeing all the never been dirty Tahoe chassis H2s running around. I have to say that body painted like that is awsome. Nice job.
