| Good Horizon Hobby Service (for bad ESC/Rx)
I goofed the other week and fried the ESC/Rx (well, more like burnt - it runs backwards and still turns!). I ordered a replacement from the 'Bay and today when FedEx showed up, I was excited to finally get this little girl crawling normal again.....but the bloody thing won't bind to the Tx to save my life. I tried several sets of batteries and two Losi Spektrum transmitters... FYI: This ESC/Rx (MRX-3100; LOSB0831) is from Lot #0911. So I spent 10 minutes on hold with Horizon, gave them the skinny, and they're shipping me out a replacement. The customer service gentleman opened an "account" in my name in which he documented this "freebie," because, as he explained it, "Word has gotten out that we often send replacements and lately we have been receiving a ridiculously overwhelming amount of calls from people asking for replacement parts. It's to the point where we just don't know what is legitimate anymore." He was totally nice about it. I hope this replacement works! I should've done it before - while I wait I'm going to reinstall that burnt ESC, but reverse those motor leads before I do... Last edited by JeepinOR; 06-03-2010 at 06:06 PM. |

Terrible news indeed!! I Just had a guy PM me wanting to buy my old esc/rx off me because he fried his... Sure seems odd that it wouldn't bind for you... It really grinds my gears when new parts work worse than the originals they replace (or don't work at all)... You should send in the one you got from the 'Bay for Warranty, since it's probably off a new truck too... Hope you didn't pay too much for it!! |
