Default Servo Consensus

Hello,

I'm still learning, and as I've searched I've seen several servo recommendations. Looks as if Hitec is favored, with models HS-65MG, HS-65HB, and HS-55 in the pool.

I play around inside, so I'm not looking for something competition worthy just something that will last and is compatible. I'm all stock aside from component relocations.

Please advise on your recommendation; I appreciate the information.

I still run stock on both of my rigs, and the only 'competition' is between my son and I...

I even have the servo saver still on, doh! but have only had a few instances when that has caused issues.

Is the servo-saver not needed?
I purchased mine with a bad servo and purchased a replacement off of eBay. I think it is for one of the other micro models, so I had to use parts from the stock servo to make it work. It also gives some feedback so I'm not sure it is compatible with the Spektrum system.

I have to exchange something with Tower, so I need to allocate the funds on some things.

I went w/the HS-65 HB.

Pretty much direct fit to the stock mounts, Once I went through the stock servo I wanted something better.

I went with a $6 shipped metal gear Ebay servo. Ive seen one or 2 others use it on their micros with no issues as well.
Just a hair smaller than the stock servo and for $6 its not a big deal if it breaks. i can use it as a winch or take the board out and use as a winch or light controller
they also have the same servo with plastic gears for even less $.
shipping was about 6 days from hong kong.

the hitecs are cheap enough that i normally wouldn't cheap out. I have a few still. but I needed a handful and its hard to pass up $6 shipped each lol

Is there an appreciable benefit to foregoing the servo-saver?

One thing i came upon and i thing actually benifits me. The 65mg servo i have confidence enough in that i removed the saver and i ffind my truck gets hung up less when attacking the obstAcle head on.

How did you attach the new servo to the linkage? The output gear on the Hitec is smaller than that on the Losi. Please advise.

Servo is great! Seems much more capable without the servo-saver. Thank y'all for the great advice!!
