Default Best way to take off shocks?

Just messing around with the micro I got a couple of days ago and went to take a shock off and begin modifying. I broke the shock trying to get it off the ball end. Are there better replacements? Thanks

best way to take them off i found is small needle nose and i grap the top of it and to put them back on i use plyers and grab the shock and the back of the ball(normally the bolt or since i have moved shock i unscrew the ball and use a vice like a press) ive broke two shocks so i figured out the best way for me to do it

1.3mm hex wrench works to disassemble 90% of the kit... remove the shox and use a nut driver to press the plastic off the ball...

there are not aftermarket shocks except the HR alloys (not worth the price) stick with the stockers
