| I think my ESC just blew
I was running my micro with the stock nimh. Turned it off for a while, turned it back on and no forward/reverse but the servo worked. I thought maybe the battery died so I changed it out to a 1s lipo and nothing, no movement and no servo. I charged up the nhmi for a few mins, stuck it in... nothing. Turned it on/off/on/off/on and the servo worked again. I changed out the bats in the remote, rebound it to the crawler and same deal, servo works and that's it. I know this has happend to a few people, has anyone fixed one? |

Yup, I'm very familer with that thread, I posted there and I bought the roller from Nick to build my scaler. What really sucks is I just bought a 80t BB2 motor from getbent and the rest of my paypal money was for the BWD vertex beadlocks... I'm not sure what to do now. Now I need 2 esc's |

Before spending any $$$, try to re-bind. Hell, if it doesn't work, buy a new ESC. If it works, just saved some green.

Up and running! I took it all apart and ran a battery straight to the motor and at first it didn't respond but then all of a sudden it sparked and started turning! So I hooked everything back up, fliped the switch and it took off... I didn't have the remote on. I turned it off, turned on the remote, turned on the crawler and presto... everything is working again. I have no idea why or what happend but it's running again... for the time being at least. |

So, does anyone know what it means when both lights on the ESC are on? No documentation comes with the thing.

I had 2 esc's go on me in my micro. Haven't had the crawler one go yet though. Horizon Hobby will replace it once for free.

| I was thinking it was the motor when the direct battery didn't spin it and I was actually happy about that because I just ordered yours! But it's really strange that the 2nd time I hooked up the motor directly it worked. There was a serious spark and then it started going... strange.

The motor might have got really hot and sort of welded itself together, had it happen to me a while ago on my touring car after running it for about 45 min straight all out. When I took the motor apart one of the brushes was pretty much stuck on the com. Either way your broke itself free and work again, plus you have a 80t on the way so you should be set. |

well it happend again... or for real perhaps. I pluged in the NiMh, turned it on and nothing happend. I picked it up to make sure I fliped the switch the right way, instantly felt the heat comeing off the battery and unpluged it then smelled smoke! The battery wires melted together. Not sure if the bare battery wires touched or what happend... but now I'm not getting any response froim it what so ever. I did notice it seemed to have a short yesterday, I had to wiggle the esc around for it to work. I should've just unpacked it from the heat shrink and looked for a loose wire. |
