Default The Start of "Mr Pinchy"

Ok, about a month ago I purchased my Losi Micro Crawler just as something to toy around with in the house, but as many things R/C that get into my hands it is never that simple. I have already done the easy and run of the mill changes which have improved things greatly but I want MORE!

Here it is as it stands now.

So far I have installed a Hitech HS-65MG servo, flipped the trans, cut the springs for a partial droop, made bent lower links, and decased and rewired the ESC/RX. Also trimmed the Battery tray down and removed the cover off the trans.

Here is a side view without the body.

And a sort of top view without body.

And here is one last one of it flexing its muscles!

Now as for future plans, well they are in the mail! Waiting arrival is one of Svens Pinch chassis's, a HR trans case, HR skid plate, Micro T rear spring set, DBR Beetle body, and some GPM Mini T end links. Plus I have some threaded rod, aluminium tubing, epoxy, spray paint, and a few other misc parts awaiting the other parts to arrive! I will try and do a little step by step build thread as I toss it together, and of course provide my expert opinion on the parts and mods as I review their performance.

These lil rigs are fun.
Every time I see a post on these i wish more and more i didn't install the scale chassis and shave the unused tabs off my axle. I drove mine more when it was a crawler.

Why not buy new axle housings, and make it a comp style again?

dockman, pretty similar setup to what i am going to do.
Pinch, and more than likely DBs Vee Dub shell.
Looks like a great start.

Now all I am waiting for is the Pinch Chassis from Sven and the DBR Vee Dub body from The Toyz then I can start my build. GO GO international mail!

Nah, you can make money to replace what you spend, once time is gone its gone. Waiting is def the worst part.

So while I sit here waiting for my stuff to arrive I started dinking around in photoshop and kind of made a pic with how I would like my crawler to look like. Only difference would be that the body would be red with white stripes.

This pic made up my mind for buying some vertex's, first thing tomorrow when I get paid I am ordering some

Small update. The GPM Mini-T ball cups arrived I ordered a few weeks ago so I went and got some threaded rod and aluminium tubing. These ball cups come with their own ball studs that go in place of your stock ones, they are a smidge smaller so the stock ones are to tight for the new ball cups. Nice thing is the new ball studs are a direct replacement so nothing to do other than swap them. You might ask why go with these instead of the usual Losi parts, well to that I say why not! Never know until you try, plus I like the way they look a lil better. I also stretched the wheel base to 4 5/8" while I was at it and extended the drive shafts.

Anywho here are a couple pics of the finished product.

Oh yeah, I made some small aluminium spacers for the springs, you can kinda see them in the pics. Also had to do a small amount of trimming to the body for the battery and servo to clear.
