Default D@&n those shocks!

I must be a clutz, but those shocks are a Bitch to get off! I broke one of the shafts clean off in the screw on end. I also bent the chassis a bit while trying to pry them off with wire cutters. That DP chassis is looking better and better! I was just trying to take the springs off, but luckily the thing still runs fine with just 3 shocks. Cool little rig! But I am slightly intimidated about working on it now.

You don't need to take them off to remove the springs, just take a small phillips screw driver and remove the small screw at the top of the shock pull it apart gently and take out the spring. When you put it back together just make sure to line up the screw holes and put the screw back into place. And if you really want to remove the shocks grab the allen key and take off the ball studs with the shock, much less likely to break something. It is much easier to remove the ball studs from the shock when it is all removed first.

Thanks guys, for the advice. I'm just a little rusty at RC. It's been 20 years or so.

or just unscrew the Ball stud so you dont have to mess with the spring, I took the spring off the stock truck the day I bought It, and the hole was drilled off and slit putting it back in, had to glue it. they made the cups way to small for the studs, they coulda made them on the low side = /

I think you can get 4 for like $6.00 I always bust them too, I've learned to just have some extra laying around.
