post some pictures! Most of the mods for the Mc4x4 will be the same as the Micro crawler |

Well, look in the mod bible, or the where to get what thread. they are the same truck, w/ the only differences being the plastic hexes, tires, longer shafts, different top shock mounts and locations, and a new chassis. So any mod will work. As for a hard body we use 1/24 and 1/20 scale kits, and adjust WB and shafts accordingly. The sky, is your only limit duder |

Here is a picture of my stock Trekker.I only took the decal graphics and used a fine tip marker to do the lines on the doors. |

Nice thing about the Trekker is it's size compared to the first one. You are supposed to be able to fit damn near any 1/20 or 1/24 model body on it (with some modification of course)

I think its a bit short for most 1/20 but would work well for 1/24 & 1/25

i flipped the transmission, pulled all the foams, took off all the outer bead rings(now they look like pro comps), took the side decals off, took the roll bar off and now it looks like a Toyota Tacoma. Jake |

Total noob to crawlers and 'real RC' trucks. Picked up a Trekker yesterday and had some fun. I can't believe how capable this little guy is. Mine is totally stock (grabbed the lipo/charger kit too, but stock vehicle). Set up some stuff on a futton couch ...like gym bag towels/shirts and a bean bag chair (rubbery kind ..not cotton or furry ...good grip). I'd guess that it can handle about 50 (maybe 55 ?) degrees before flipping. Maybe 25 before rolling (sideways). (Pics aren't working for me ...maybe because I'm new, so I put them on flickr and have links to them) Bean bag shots: http://www.flickr.com/photos/60678118@N05/5534031341/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/60678118@N05/5534031357/ And others: http://www.flickr.com/photos/60678118@N05/5534031375/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/60678118@N05/5534612162/ ...having fun so far |

Oh yah, I agree with duct_tape: The front tires catch on the fenders if you have them turned much during any real articulation (ok one tire grabs at a time ). The motor can power through it, but the servo can't, so you get stuck with the steering aiming where it was aimed until the tire can break free. It only gets stuck if the truck isn't moving or is crawling real slow. It looks like it is just the rear of the front fenders ...a little filing, cutting, or however you want to remove it ..probably right to the edge of the flair (leaving the flair, but not the 1/8" that the tire catches ...hope that makes sense). I haven't done that yet, but most likely will soon. |
