Default big block questions

ok so this might sound dumb but here it goes... i have the aluminum tranny and a 52t spur gear ordered and comin for my vinson quad project. also have 15t, 17t, 19t and a 21t pinion gears to choose from here. i want to get some speed out of this thing but still be able to crawl stuff with it ( i know oxymoron right?).

i want to big block this thing and i seen that alot of people use the 70t or 80t pn racing motor... has anyone tried the 50t?... is it too much for the parts to handle?... will it still be crawlable?

any advice would be greatly appreciated

Don't think so ... at least none posted here yet. Only one way to find out how it works, be the guinea pig.

A 50 turn motor would most likely make it a turd, not enough torque to let it crawl. The problem would arise that you need to use the smallest pinion (for crawlability & torque) and not be able to because the 130 can will not allow the shaft close enough to the spur.

I have used and suggest the 70t for the best of both speed and grunt for your project. I recently upgraded to the 80t and it works good as well.

Where do you purchase these motors from?

so maybe i should just use the 70t and try to gear it for the speed?... 70t is 10 bucks as opposed to the 50t which is 18 bucks... ill start my build thread on this soon... got some good pics and progress so far...

any other opinions would still be much appreciated since im still undecided on what to go with... might be in for being the first to try the 50t if no one else has yet...
