Here's how mine is currently mounted in a true scale 1:24 tamiya jeep (1995 version Rare!)

had to remove a screw from the center diff area and glue it together. the bracket is a folded and cut Coke can. and the ball stud is trimmed short on the bottom and jb welded to the bracket.

all these pictures and more are in by build thread. link is http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/losi-...ts-images.html

edit: forgot to mention, that servo is glued to the transmission and also to a hand cut plastic bracket to keep it off the drive shaft.

well everyone watching i have good news and bad news... the bad news is that i have decided to go ahead and sell the chassis, links and driveshafts. the good news is i am going to get a new silverado kit and go with a full interior with my own leafs and transfer case so go check out my for sale ad and help me rebuild this beast!

Re: Mastah Kyler's Chevy Silverado

so i took a stroll down to my LHS and picked a sheet of .5mm styrene as well as a brand new silverado kit. so while all of that is drying, i started messing around with the styrene and for the first time using sheets, i impressed myself quite a bit. i built a "tool box" to hid my battery in. im a little stumped on how to hinge the lid to the body :???: but here are the pics. Note that this is on the old body

i hope the tranny doesnt take as long to get here as my battery did. it worries me that shipping was $8

Re: Mastah Kyler's Chevy Silverado

well aside from the setback with the sumo trans, i did manage to get some work done today. i did the shock under axle mod and mounted some temporary shocks until i can get a new set of HR shocks. heres a quick mock up

Re: Mastah Kyler's Chevy Silverado

so i was doing a little thinking and i thought it wouldnt hurt to grab the interior from my old set and see how much i would have to take out to put the losi trans in it. and well lets talk after the pics...

http://i1125.photobucket.com/albums/...r/IMG_1020.jpg

http://i1125.photobucket.com/albums/...r/IMG_1021.jpg

http://i1125.photobucket.com/albums/...r/IMG_1023.jpg

http://i1125.photobucket.com/albums/...r/IMG_1024.jpg

i would have to take out the rear seats and take out a good portion of the center console and drivers seat. its just kind of sucks that i would have to take out the rear seats especially knowing that i can potentially have a t-case 1/3 of the size. i didnt know before but the sumo trans is 1:1. i dont suppose i could change out some gears?

Re: Mastah Kyler's Chevy Silverado

I've seen the use of the sumo 1:1 and the motor is under the hood with a planetary transmission. I'd have to hunt threads to find the link to them though. ): but I wish I knew about them before I hacked out just about the entire floor of my jeep.

Re: Mastah Kyler's Chevy Silverado

Have to admit it would take the scale to a new level though!
Anyone know the stock ratio on the Crawler/trekker?

The sumo trans has very little reduction. You could just use the losi trans up front connected to the sumo trans as a transfer case. OR you could mount the spur & motor up front on a custom mount and use the losi trans without spur as a transfer case ( divorced setup) that makes the whole setup much smaller.

Losi transmission is a very tight fit on model trucks, and generally get in the way of full movement of front axle. I could never fit a lost transmission under the hood of my truck for example. (purple jeep pictured above)

Re: Mastah Kyler's Chevy Silverado

Well it wouldn't be the whole transmission. As I said it would be the Spur gear & motor on a custom mount and the transmission without the spur would be under the cab as a transfer case. This way you dont need new parts & keep the same gearing. The Gear reduction parts look nice, but if you cant fit a losi trans under the hood I doubt you will fit one of those GRUs

Re: Mastah Kyler's Chevy Silverado

its the vertical height vs length. every bit counts when your on something this small!
