| The 1 ton rock pile...
Actually it's 2500 pounds of rip rap plus about 20 cinder blocks on the front porch. This part is about 9'x 3'and is the oldest arrangement for the micros. And to the right of it is this pile which is still evolving. More rocks have been added on top of the blocks since this pic. There is also a low section to the left. I keep finding new lines and adding/rearranging sections. Need to get some more rocks but it's a lotta work choosing, loading individual rocks into the back of my MPV. Not to mention unloading, washing and arranging them! Will take pics of the newer sections and maybe post a video later next week when I ain't workin the nite shift. Another view of the older 9' x 3' section. Last edited by anuthabubba; 05-26-2014 at 04:45 AM. Reason: added pic |

Thanks. It is gonna get bigger and better. Original idea was to have one section for 1/10 & 1/18 and one for micros but the micros have taken over! For now. Yeah, I can walk right through the front door (carport door is main entrance) any time, day or night, rain or shine and crawl a pack or two. |

The local River Service (barges, tow boats) at our small Mississippi River Port sells rock of varying sizes at $28/ton. They weigh my minivan on the way in, I load the rocks I want and get weighed again on the way out. Averaged 620# a trip (found the receipts) for this one man operation. One load was 900#!!!

Found the pics of my first ever 'home made' stack. Couldn't get all the way up either side with a Micro, MRC or LCC! |

I've saved that last pic. That's not a lot of space taken up and not a lot rock to make that pile. Excellent idea.

Thanks. There's not as much heavy stuff to move around this way either. Used about 20 blocks to get that elevation change. Plan to use a few single/double/half blocks in the coming 'new' addition on the left. Need to get some more of the smaller rocks too. Have put a few irregular concrete chunks on top of the blocks for a test drive. Need to rearrange them. It's not gonna be as high as the original was though. porch pile Aug '16 Last edited by anuthabubba; 08-26-2016 at 06:51 PM. Reason: add pics |

Thursday 15Sep16 got off my duff and did something to it. Gonna redo half of what's on the blocks though.
