This is my first micro and like every other rig out there somebody makes aluminum upgrades for it , But for and small, slow and light as these are , Are all the upgrades really necessary , Are there any real weak points that i really do need to address , Thanks for any info to get me in the right direction.

Glad that you asked this. I'm just getting into the micros and I thought that the aluminum was more show than go but i'd like to hear the opinion of people with experience.

Definitely the trany case. It actually solves a problem some tranys have with gears binding inside. Next on the list is the steering knuckles and hubs. They actually make the steering smoother and keep the tires vertical. Plastic knuckles tend to sag. All the other stuff it just nice but not really needed. It's next to impossible to break most the plastic parts without a 10 foot drop or stepping on the rig. Hope that helps! |

Don't forget to glue the diff inside the tranny or your gears will melt. And yeah, the hot racing aluminum tranny case plus the glue will make the drive train pretty much bullet proof. For a super servo "that fits" the FUTABA S3156 is awesome. Sent from my ME173X using Tapatalk |

I guess I have to spend a few more dollars before mine even gets here. |

I would definitely recommend the aluminum transmission (as well as a good motor from Danally)! I haven't honestly had a need for any of the other parts. Although I do have a set of the aluminum rear lockouts that I have yet to use.

Danally can give you the specifics about the glue job. Its basically gluing the slipper. The slipper is not necessary and it will produce too much heat if you don't keep it tight at all times. The shinny gearbox comes in more than one piece. The housing and then the cover. http://www.hot-racing.com/index.cgi?c=486 The blue drag link and the aluminum skid plate are nice too. I have them all and my micro is indestructible. Personally I think Losi put the slipper in this car and shipped them all too loose so they could force people to buy more gears. Ask Danally about a metal gear for your tranny too. They are on the same page as the rest of the parts. Sent from my ME173X using Tapatalk Last edited by olblueyez; 11-12-2014 at 05:22 AM. |
