I understand the lowering of the battery & radio components, but the body seems so light that lowering it would not really have a difference. OR are all ya'all lowering the body more for looks? |

| The body does have mass, lowering it will make a difference to the COG. If you are just goofing around, you probably won't notice. If you are building a competition rig I believe that evey little bit helps. Also, it didn't cost me anything to move the body down, so if the benefit is minimal that's alright with me.

I think what happens often when lowering the body is that people are actually shortening, limiting or replacing the shocks. In doing this process the body usually lowers. I agree that the MRC body is light but when stuff gets competitive every little bit counts. Its all relative though, a crawler with more weight in the wheels and a taller chassis can be more comp than a lowered body with less weight in the wheels. Its all about the setup.

| Some of us are actually making new mounting holes in the body, so that it sits lower on the chassis.

What about weight ratio front to back? Keep weight in center? More weight in front? How much more? Any input? |

lowering the body did look better to me and in a tight spot its lower stance will not catch on as many rocks. but i just replaced my body for a hpi 18th scale new bug. it rolls back to its wheels easier and sits WAY low. i placed as much weight forward as possible and it climbs much better. read all of the early posts to see how and why people are moving the electronics. i am going to run lipo on the front 3 link. |

I am going to try and get the weight as low and centered as possible. I feel more weight distribution to the front might not be the best option based on discussions in other threads about larger scale crawlers. Anyone have other input on this? |
