| My MRC Samurai
It's here . I got my shiny new Losi MRC from TCS this morning. It's a really impressive piece of kit and I can't wait to get it on some rocks. Side on Next to a Moab 2.2 tyre Front Rear Flexin with the body off I ran it around the house for a while but then I got bored of it and stuck my SJ body on it . I also though it would look good with a winch on the front so I grabbed a Wild Willy unit out of my spares box. I might stick a spare wheel on the back but I'm not sure yet. Oh and the first person to spot the deliberate mistake wins. Last edited by Tupers; 11-07-2008 at 11:05 AM. |

Did you pick up the Sammy body in the UK or the States? Can't find the link to the one source I had, and I'm interested in the same thing. (mrc/ kinda scale samurai) |

Well it hasn't stayed stock for long. I drove it around the house a bit more this afternoon and realized that the COG was way to high. I've taken the radio plate off and drilled the mounting holes out to 3mm so I can mount the shock directly to the chassis. I've cut some radio plates and mounted the ESC on the back and RX on the transmission and the battery will sit on the front. I had intended to use the stock battery but it wouldn't fit so I'm in the proses of reconfiguring it. Hopefully these mods will make it a little more stable and alow me to lower the body. I'm also thinking of limiting the shock travel to give more scale articulation but that can wait for now. |

I haven't got nearly as much done on this as I had hoped to. Today I broke out the styrene and got back to work. I'm going for a pickup instead of soft top so I chopped the top off and I've started on the drop bed. I'm going to blank off the back of the cab and connect the bed to the chassis. I'm also thinking of cutting out the tail gat and making some sand ladders to fill the gap. |
