Default Stall cure?

I upgraded to a TorqueMaster Mini and a Tekin FXR but I added a lot fo weight and some very sticky tires. It is definitly more capable then the stock form but it seems like it stalls alot. Mostly when I'm ruinning into a sheer face. It's like the motor will stop unles I give it massive throttle then it will jump and come out of it (or die totally).

Could this just be due to me still using the stock battery or does everyone have this problem? I have a lipo on order ... anyone know where I can find alternate pinions?

Maybe I'm just spoiled with my Holmes Handwound on my 2.2 but it seems like it stalls easier than it should.

Did you flip the tranny? If so did you reset the timing on the motor? That may help.

Yes, and yes.

I have the same setup and did the same thing. I messed with the pinion/spur mesh and took the drag brake off 100% down to 80%. Cured it and ran great.

I disagree. It's not bad for what it is and it's much better than some other RTR batteries. It blows Duratrax RTR's sorry excuse for a battery away in my experience.

With a full charge on it that would be closer to an hour. I got an hour and a half once when I was running the stock tires still.

The stock battery may not provide more than a few amps before the voltage drops hard, it is fairly high resistance. You should notice a big difference with your lipo.

Even with a new battery you won't get stall performance like a larger 540 motor however. The TorqueMaster mini is teeny tiny, and sticky tires combined with heavy weight is indeed a lot to ask. I have to give almost half throttle to get out of some binds. Beyond that I fear for the losi driveline.

Yes, and there are a couple RTR batteries that are worse as was said....lol... Losi battery in my experience doesnt' last many charge cycles before it dies and it is high resistance. A swap to even GP1100's is a HUGE improvement in amps, peak voltage, and life of the cells.
