Default Venom Fireball Micro 370P Motor in an MRC

Well I had two of these laying around that I was going to put in a couple ParkZone Parkflyers.

Well the ParkZone stuff ended up chit canned awhile ago so I fig what the hack.

So far all I can say is WOW. The speed more then doubled and slow speed seems to be as good as stock. Did a little couch crawling and the low end power is as good as stock if not better.

Not bad for 15.99 from HobbyTown.

While I was at it I switch over to Deans Ultras so I can try it out with my Thunderpower 1320 2 cell lipos that I have from my flying days.

Was it a direct fit and did you use the stock ESC?

I had to change the connector on the stock venom motor so it would plug in. Grind a flat into the motor shaft for the pinion setscrew. That was it.

Was doign some wheelie action int he living room just a bit ago. No it won't pull it up from a standstill but going from reverse to foward netted a living room long wheelie.

Only messed around for a 1/2 hour then played Monopoly with the wife and kids. Wasn't warm hardly at all.

I know I've posted this somewhere before, but I did something similar.
I'm running a Frenzy 370 in one truck and a Kyosho motorcycle 280 in the other. The 280 is reverse wound so it works well with the flipped tranny. The 370 seems to have a bit more torque. I run 13t pinions on both. I'm considering going down to a 12t. It's been a lot more fun with these motors. I have full aluminum gears in the center diff but all stock in the axles yet. After numerous (NiMH cells) I haven't had any issues. I run HR 1350 cells and have had very respectable run times, still somewhere around an hour or so.

Hello
As I understand you did do nothing to the motorplate - the motor directly fit the plate/screwholes - is this correct ??

That Venom motor is the same size motor as the stock motor so should be a direct bolt in same as the Frenzy motor that Sonny is running.

Yep, both mine are direct bolt -ins. The shaft is almost too short on my 28BB, but it does the trick. I need to grind a flat on mine also, I just haven't gotten to it yet.
