Default Question on a setup

I have and love my MRC. I really would like to build a scale looking Tough Truck. I need a good bit of wheel speed and torque. Can someone give me some some ideas on a motor, battery, maybe pinion spur gear setup. I would like to get the holmes hobbies torquemaster mini, but im not sure what will be enough. Any info would be much aprecated. THX

Somebody on this site recommended the Reedy Stump Puller motor and said that it was faster than the Holmes motor. If this you ever follow through this will be a cool build to see!

I just installed a Venom fireball mini 370 in my MRC and it was twice as fast as stock with the stock battery. I then went to a Thunder power 1320 2S lipo and it works great.

Cost me about 16 dollars for the motor from the local Hobbytown and I had the Thundrpower pack from my flying days.

You just have to swap out the motor wire connector and grind a flat in the motor shaft for the pinion set screw.

I installed the Holmes Hobbies 454 Cobalt Puller with the CC Mini Mamba ESC using a 2700mah 2s lipo. It works great but you will need to modify the motor plate to fit the puller. Also you will need to loosen the side chassis screws from the skid to get the motor to fit in. I've been running this for a few weeks now with no problems.

a better method would be to cut the tvp next to the motor. instead of loosening the skid plate=sloppy truck

I would try a fireball 370 with a 15 tooth pinion. I run a fireball motor with an 11 tooth pinion and its faster than stock so I imagine with a 15t it would move pretty good

The screws only need to be loosen to make it easier to get the motor and trans in. Then retighten the screws nothing is loose and the chassis remains the same, works great. The hard part is modifing the motor plate without screwing it up.
