yeah i think it was just the fact that it was to small to hold in place

and if u make another one id imagine that u would have many a people wanting...from what i see but it would be SWEET if u did make more!

I appreciate all the positive feedback guys! I wasnt sure about this build initially and as I started the chassis there were a few changes made. Mainly for weight purposes, I wanted to keep it as light as possible believe or not. That explains some of the design. I'll post the chassis weight when I take it apart for paint. Kind of curious myself.

If I build another one or more for that matter they would be done with a few changes. I've learned a little on this one. The toughest part about making more is the amount of time it takes, not to mention buying a $30 Bruder Jeep to cannibalize.

We'll see, if there are any more in the future you guys will know.

Took it back apart to finish up some dremel sanding and get it ready for primer and paint when the weather permits. Still have a few tiny things to weld up but otherwise I think its ready. Here it is bare chassis.

Build-up page 2 - Updated 12/13/08

Here are a few pics of my chassis's current status, sorry been slow going. A bunch more photo's on the link above. Sorry im too lazy to repost them on here too.

So I finally mounted the grill, added some shackle mounts to the front and rear bumpers, steering wheel & dash for the heck of it. Also added some tabs for mounting the skins. Made an aluminum mount and mounted the new Hitec 645mg servo, (waiting on steering links) and more.

Check out more photo's Here

Well i've finally wrapped things up with this Jeep build. Im sure a lot of you guys forgot about it. None the less i've been waiting on some parts to arrive and since they did last week and the week before I was able to bolt everything in finally. This build took a little longer than I anticipated and welding 1/8 rod with a 220 mig welder took some getting used too. but being my first it was a good learning experience and im happy with the outcome.

The green paint isnt the look I was going for but heck its going to get scratched to hell anyways and all in all its growing on me. Kind of a John Deere green I guess...

Here are a few pic's from todays first run. More Photo's & InfoClick Here Page 3 added 1/17/09

I have a 2005 TJ Rubicon with Full Traction 6" long arm.

It goes in the shop this week for a crawler stubby front bumper, sliders, custom front tube fenders, roll cage work, rear bumper /tire carrier, rear tube fenders.

Don't have a pic of my MRC yet but here is a pic of my Rubicon 1/1.

Where do you get the bruder jeep body at? My girlfriend gave me a MRC for christmass and I've been looking for a jeep body that will fit since then. I'd love to build a 1/18 scale version of the 1/1 jeep buggy I'm building in the garage. This would fit perfectly.

Don't worry about it, these wheels where WELL worth the wait! Very nicely made Dan!! I don't know how you guys make any money off these wheels for the price you charge. The extra weight worked out perfect too. Thanks again!

O yea, I was also waiting on custom stainless lower links and steering too so the wheels didn't loose me any time.

I notice the pictures above don't show much of the wheels so here are some shots that show them.

Another shot

Front side of Wheel w/black ring mounted

Back side of Wheel w/natural ring mounted (I ended up using black bolts for this side instead of stainless as shown)
