Default Rear Steer - Complete

Okay, shame on me for getting your attention with that subject line.

I talked with my LHS about rear steer on the MRC. I am a a newbie but it sounds easy to do. I realize it breaks the law if comp'n but has anyone here done a mod with rear steer? If it is possible as I am led to believe I will be doing it within the next couple of weeks assuming all parts are available.

I have 4WS on mine. It was pretty simple. I took the front axle off my 2nd truck and put it on the rear. I used a Futaba servo reverser.
It's a lot of fun to drive it with the 4WS I crawl completely different lines now.

I'm not worried about comps here in Iraq, I don't see a 1.9 class starting soon, let alone any other crawler classes.

There are quite a few of us with 4WS. I run it and love it. I find it helps a ton when crawling in small areas or indoor courses. True, it is currently not comp legal, but unless comps are in your plans that doesn't really matter. It's also not a big deal to undo it if you ever chose to.

Mainly what you need are the knuckles and carriers, the steering links, and a servo. The knuckles and carriers are the same as the ones for the front, so just get the part numbers from the manual (mine isn't handy atm). You will also need a servo saver or servo arm and servo mounting posts, as well as either a 3ch programmable radio or a reversing "Y" harness to get the front and rear channels turning correctly.

I plan on doing the 4ws mod. i have a complete front axel (using the straight axel for my lowered scale toyota) i have an M8 radio for proportional rear steer. i plan on taking it to Afganistan so no comps over there either that i know of. keep it up over there Sonny and keep your head down (Sappers lead the way!)

I didnt see many rocks when i was there but a Baja 5B would kick ass in Kuwait. i will check out the rocks for ya in Afgan.
