| Kaetwo's Losi MRC's
I've been really busy with school and work lately and have not had the time to work on these but once I started, I couldn't stop. I've got three of them now (1 - Stock, 1 - Bronko and 1 - Comp) and could use 2-3 more I honestly did not think that I would have as much fun with these rigs as I am, but I can't get enough of them. It's cool to just build a course out of rock laying around in the back yard or setup a trials course in the house. There without a doubt my new favorite RC This thread has my two modded MRC's. The one is my comp rig, using just a few upgrades but many tweaks and tuning mods. I've got a set of Cody's custom stainless lower links (and will soon have the steering kit), Losi blacked out rims with blue compound Claws and memory foams. I've also tweaked the suspension by limiting the travel and relocating the upper mount location onto the chassis. I've removed the upper deck and have replaced it with lexan shelves on the upper links. Being that it's not a 4-link design, it doesn't hurt the upper links travel to have stuff mounted there. Basically I've shaved as much weight off the upper portion of the rig as possible (anything above the top of the tires). These rigs are so light that any weight saved or relocated makes a huge difference. I've weighted my tires from and rear to change the CG bias. I'm running 1.5oz in the rear and 3 in the front. This seems to work really well and made a huge difference in it's performance. For electronics, I'm running a Hitec 645 with the Reign RC Servo Crown, a micro Spektrum receiver and of course a Tekin B1-R, which works amazing!!! I've got it all wrapped up with a Losi Mini Grappler body which has a great fit and finish. Overall the rig runs great, and I can't see making any major changes to it. I would like to snag a set of Losi aluminum rims and play with another set of claws, only without memory foam (just to have the option), but other than that, it's dialed! The second rig is my mini tribute to Griz It features the new Reign RC Point-Five chassis, Cody's lower links and soon it will have his steering kit as well. I've tweaked the suspension is the same manner as my others by limiting the travel. I've also mounted the electronics as low as possible (with the exception of the receiver. It's just so huge ) I've added a Holmes Hobbies Torque Master motor (talk about an amazing difference in power) and of course a Hitec 645 servo and a Tekin B1-R. To give it a Griz boss look, I added Integy aluminum rims with cut n shut Losi Claws. They turned out really well but are a mother $%#@%$ to glue!!!! I used a used set as I like the way the used Losi Claws feel and the traction you get from them. I figured it would take the Mini 25 years of crawling everyday to wear in a new set. I've got them weighted the same as my Grappler and am using the wide stance adapters that come with the rims. The truck is nearly complete and should be up and running on Monday. To power each of these rigs, I use a MaxAmps 860 2C Lipo which has the perfect foot print to mount up on the front upper links. Overall these little rigs run and perform amazing, and I have nothing but good things to say about them. In the works; - Jeep Tuber - PTI Jeep - Bruder Unimog Now onto the pics |

He is using TLT servo plates, drilled/contersunk to fit the stock location. A lot of guys have used axial mounts in the same fashion. |

Nice work, both rigs look really clean. What length cross tubes are you using for the Grappler and are you just using fuel tubing for the upper shock? I think I need a Griz Tribute clone. |

You'll get Losi in trouble calling it a Bronco, its a Bronko I want to see if Griz picks up on an old Kaetwo tradition with the Bronko. Here is a hint; This would be 1,287 uses for these little gems

Btw, I'll bring your steer kits over today and I'm going to give you some screws that will set those chassis up nicely. Stainless button head 2mm stuff. I needed 4 for mine and they only come in packs of 100 so I got a ton of leftovers. I think they will look sharp plus they are low profile |

What do you call the arms mounted vertical on the mount, that the servo screws onto?

You and your Reign toys..... You should have a frequent buyer card for your site. Nice rigs! That Bronko would look good with some FI's. |

Does the B1-R have drag brake like the Fx-R?

just looked it up for myself! it does. Brett you turned me on originally to the FX-R and is the B1-R just a mini version? I'm having a hard time seeing the advantage giving they are so close in price and the size is so close. Last edited by mann0mann; 11-24-2008 at 12:54 AM. |

They both give you great power, functionality and of course are overbuilt in Tekin fashion. Does that help?
