Default Duke's mini ss

Got the DNA mini ss yesterday in the mail and got to buildin. Great quality in the overall product and nice packaging. I wanted to stick with stock ball ends and 2mm hardware so I did not have to re drill anything.

I used Losi mini-t shocks all around shorties in the rear and longs in the front. The mounting hardware for the shocks proved use full. The bolts are a little bigger than 2mm in self tap nicely. I replaced the mini-t shock ball ends with the ones off the stock shocks. Works great.

Lowers done and shocks mounted. Great ground clearance over the stock chassis.

Thanks. The build is goin pretty smooth. I set the uppers parallel like the original DNA set up. It limits the travel at a good spot for me so I'm gonna try it. I also changed the springs out to orange rears and blue fronts to stiffen it up a bit.

Gonna make some electric trays tomorrow should be ample room for everything.

Yep, all delrin. I am using the stock ball ends so I still need to taper them down a bit on the ends to get them flush so they won't hang up.

Finished mounting the electrics, just used some lexan for trays. Nice and compact. Also picked up some (stock)body posts and alu. hexes. With the wheels and tires I'm runnin now it brings the track width out to a hair under 7 1/2. I will be changing the wheels to some Vanquish Lil' Harrys soon, I hope, but should not effect the width.

Not sure if I will change the batt for a smaller pack yet. This one fits perfect under the body so will work for now. Run time is stoopid long. Now I need to go back thru and lock tight everything before it hits the rocks.

Got the body all mounted up. Just like it's big brother. Took it out on the rocks today. Runs great and very stable, need to add a couple spacers to the shocks but thats it. Still waitin on wheels and a bunch if aluminum goodies to get the axels comp ready.

The Mamba micro pro sure lets you control the motor, nice and smooth and I have not had any issues runnin the 5645 servo. On to the pics, thanks for the body Mikey.

It's all good, that's the bodies job.

Hit the rocks yesterday for a good test run, unfortunately my camera took a crap on me. Oh well, I was pleasantly surprised by the performance of the DNA chassis, when I first set it up I was dubious of the upper link placement, I was not sure if it would articulate enough. During testing I was quickly proved wrong, it articulated very smooth and held the lines nice and tight. With the uppers parallel it also climbed and sidehilled like no other, I wish I could get my 2.2 to sidehill as well.

Still have some axle parts on order and I am hoping to see the VP Lil' Harry's this week sometime. Should be more than ready for the season opener in January.

why do you use short shocks in the rear and long shocks in the front?
