| Normal motor smell??
I recently got a MRC for christmas. I have only charged it twice and ran it for atleast 1 hour. After driving it one day I picked it up to turn it off but i noticed a smell. Whenever i put my nose up to the skid plate under the motor I smell a weird smell like one of the electronics or motor is getting overheated or fried. Is this smell normal, is it suppose to happen? Please help, I hate thinking the fact that it is breaking already.

its burnt up for sure or at least on its way out. If you call Losi about it and tell them you just got it you might get a new one out of them.

Mine did the same thing at a comp. I had the truck wedged into a crack and I tried to force it out. The motor smelled like fried electronics but it still runs fine.......just stinky! I just recently put in a Mini Torquemaster from Holmes Hobbies and it is a great improvement in speed and still crawls awesome. |

all it is is the assembly oil from putting the motor together in the factory..it is just the motor breaking in. the smell will go away soon

You'll notice that from any electric motor when it runs. When the armature heats up it puts off a subtle smell, but if you were truly cooking it...you'd know the difference. When it is time for a new can, I'll second the Holmes TMM |
