Default Stump Puller Help

How is everyone getting these to fit in the MRC? Noticed that the shaft on the Stump Puller is a lot shorter than the stock losi motor so you cant turn the pinions around and puting them on the normal way the shoulder on the pinion gets into the spur gear and they wont mesh.
Are you shimming the motor back, Cutting the pinions down or???
I have picked up an assorment of the Associated pinion's for the 18T are these the correct ones?
Thanks in advance

I run the Robinson 12 tooth pinion and yes I had to file it down to fit correctly.

I've got a few guys running the Stump Pullers not sure how they are getting them to fit though (I'm going to snag one as soon as my stocker dies) I'll ask them and see if I can get more info. The few that have them love them and have been putting them through some hardcore sh*t and haven't had any issues.... yet

I put a 1/8 aluminum spacer between motor and mounting plate. Then I grounded a flat side on motor shaft with my dremel and turned pinion around and screwed it tight. It has been working flawlessly for a week or two.

I have a stump puller, 62t aluminum spur, and a 11t steel pinion.

I ground a flat spot on the motor shaft. Then I removed the slipper and spur, drilled a new hole in the shaft 1/4" farther out, and moved the entire spur gear assembly out. I then trimmed the motor cover to give me room. Now almost any RC18t pinion fitts without and shimming or worrying about bad gear mesh.

The losi mini T runs the same 60T large gear stock as the MRC. Why not try a metal motor gear from a mini T? You can find sets of them on ebay.
