Default My entry into the mini crowd. **Update - Finished and ready**

Well, I have to admit it took a long time. I kept spending money on the scaler and thought I would never get one. Last week though I talked the wife into one and she let me order a grip of stuff. I got the mini for $204 shipped so that was a heck of a deal.

Losi:
Aluminum shocks
Aluminum C's
Aluminum Knuckles
Blue Claws
Memory Foams
Spring sets
Metal Diffs throughout
Mini Grappler to be painted like his big brother

Mods so far:
DX3R - Just cause I have it, lol
Internal beadlocks (unti lI get the Vanquish rims - BG)- Thanks Billy Goat!!!
Custom 4-links for both axles - thanks left over Axial aluminum
Custom 1/4" Delrin links with stock ends on the lowers
Custom 1/4" Delrin links with Axial ends on the uppers
645 full size servo
Prepped and painted all aluminum flat black

And from this:

To this:

As you can see I removed the stock shock mounts and made delrin ones for the supports. The shocks are way more angled now, but I still have great clearance and travel. That is with them limited. I may change that. So far I am keeping the stock electronics but I know that will change. Right now the Grappler is completely slammed on the chassis and looks great. But I need to find a way to fit 12 pounds of crap into a 5 gallon container. Still though, I am happy and can't wait to try the 4-links out.

Hope you all like.
Jon

Wow Jon - you didn't waste any time on your new MRC - looks great! That's a great price, especially since I payed $239 + taxes at the local HT. I assume you'll have it at the comp tomorrow?

I know what ya mean. I just removed the upper shelf in mine yesterday and relocated all the electronics, and it was tricky to get them in spots that would stay low, but be out of the way. Had no choice...I had to put the battery on the rear axle plate...at least till I make an offset servo plate for the front.

Looks good, I tend to like the all black schemes.

Lookin good bud! Personally I would shorten the front upper links a little to clock the axle back a little. It'll give you a litle more castor which will give you better steering. Also maybe consider shaving down the dogbone cups a little, which will allow more throw. PM me if you have any ?'s. But overall, I really like how it's lookin. can't wait to school you on the rocks...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHa.

Yeah I need to shorten the top ones a bit. I finished that up at 2 am the other day and said screw it for a while. It isn't running yet so I have some time. But I need to find places for all the elec goods, lol.

I hope I don't do too bad with this one. I am sure I will get it dialed in before the next comp.

Thanks for all the compliments guys.

Ok, I need to to an update before the first comp this weekend.

two weeks ago I got this thing running and I can say that my 4-link setup was awesome. Climbed damn near everything I threw at it.

Fast forward to version 2. Now affectionately called "Little Ole". Named after the wife (kind of) cause she hate3s it more than ever after spending a "few" dollars on it, lol. I swear it is over, lol.

So, now we have added a Mamba Micro, a Holmes Mini Torquemaster, 1320 2s lipos, repositioned servo, BEC, flipped tranny, shortened upper links for caster angles, painted body like his bigger brother, and a few other goodies. The body is about as slammed as a grappler can get with the stock chassis. But I am not upgrading so this is it. SHocks are limited even?! Still has a bit too much flex.

Computer at home took a crap so I shot these with a webcam from work. Actually looks better than my Dig camera, lol.

Oh, and in about 3 hours my Little Dirty Harry's are gonna be thrown on. She is going to be fully tested tomorrow before her comp flower is taken, lol.
