| Homage to the vintage - JRX-T Grappler
Since I am a Losi whore I decided that I needed a new body for the crawler. I drew out a ton of ideas with fancy curves and some flame things. It sat for a couple of weeks and then it hit me. I have been racing?running Losi's since 89'. In that time I have owned many of their products. My favorite RC of all time was the Team Losi JRX-T. The first stadium truck ever to re-invent the category and also create it at the same time. I have always loved the paint on the box art so I thought what the hey. I am more satisfied with this paint job than any one i have ever done. It actually took about 6 hours?! Anyway, here is what the JRX-T looked like back in the day: And here is what I came up with. I planned ahead to think about how much I would cut off. that frustrates me most with bodies as you paint them all purdy and then hack them up: Pics stink, but so does the weather outside. Thanks for looking. jon |

So if that paint scheme is vintage that means I am vintage because I had on of those back in the day.

I have been getting really big into restoring these old rides. ClodTalk.com has a sister site called RC10Talk.com. I meandered over there to discover a huge wealth of knowledge about these old rides. If any of you have these keep them as they are actually becoming rare. And yes, these are now called "vintage", lol. Here are my three restored: JRX-2, JRX-T, and LXT. 20-year old brand new tires and wheels.

I had a Jr.-T back in the day. I still have it but it has been ripped to pieces and is not rebuildable. The tranny is in my scale truck as the transfer case though. |

This site is the main reason I was able to. You can even buy them SNIB still from this guy. A JRX-T sealed goes for $1000.00!!!!! Last edited by O.C.D.; 11-06-2008 at 04:01 PM.

I was like 7 when that truck came out. My parents wouldn't even let me have a "real" r/c. But the paint is definately typical of the era, and you pulled it off to the T. Well played.

I wish I still had all of mine! First Tamia Sand Scorcher, Hirobo 44b (one of the first belt drive off road 4x4, Rc10 yeah white plastic gold chassis, and a chain driven race 4x4 from Ranch Pit Shop. Then the list goes on...lol I still have the sand scorcher body just missing the detail stuff for it.
