Default charging stock battery

Would it be ok if I were to charge the stock 1100mah battery on my piranha charger? Seem slike 5-6 "suggested" hours on the stock charger is ridiculous.

I never really used the stock charger but a good rule of thumb is you can look at the mA output on the charger and divide that number by the mah of the battery and determine how long it will take to charge (example if it was a 100 mA charger then it would take 1 hour to charge a 100mah battery). 5-6 hours might be correct if it is a 200mA output charger on a 1100mah battery.

it would be fine to charge it on your pirahna charger. if you have an adjustable rate selection on your charger then charge it at a low amperage for the first charge. maybe at .5A. then charge it at 1.1A from there on.

Agreed, I typically charge mine at 1 amp and the battery is slightly warm afterwards. I would not go above 1.5 amps as I imagine those sub-c's will get rather toasty.

i believe the cells are 1100mah 2/3 a . not sub c. but i charge mine on my hyperion charger at 1.1a and it charges in an hr or less. i have bumped it up to 1.5a with no ill effects.but i like a slower charge.

Your right they are not sub-C. Slower is typically better.

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but it seemed relevant. I am new to the electric scene, a diversion from my nitro truck. Here's my question. The CX-10 Piranha charger I have has a charging rate of 2.5A. Is this to much for the stock pack? I don't want any fires, etc.

Well according to what everyone is saying, 2.5A would be a bad idea. I doubt you would start a fire, but expect to shortern your batteries life span.

I suppose a new charger is a better investment over replacing batteries all the time.
