Default Ready to Upgrade Servo and Install Lockers-Help Needed

I've had my crawler in stock form for about 2 months now getting practice and making sure I'd like this hobby before I decided to upgrade and dump any money into it. The servo has started screaming for mercy once the stock servo saver got lost when I was out on some rocks and sounds like its on its very last legs. I did my research on here and found most guys are having good luck with the hi-tec 645mg servo. (Is this the right part #? Where is the best place to order from online?

Does this bolt directly on? I want this to look as clean and factory as possible. I was thinking of buying the RC bros servo plate for the front to mount it? What modifications do I need to do for it work on the steering arm?

Also figure if I'm going to order from RCbros I'll order the lockers for the front and rear as well. This seems like it would be a pretty good mod.

Any help would be great. I'm new to this hobby.

The HS-645MG servo is a fullsize servo and requires a tray that is wider. You can make your own or order one up. The 645 should give you 100oz or torque, so you will really like it when trying to turn in tight spots.

Tcscrawler.com had the hitec 645mg for $28. It is not a direct replacement for the stock one. Everything will be bolt together though if you get the rcbros servo mount and servo posts, Cutting the servo arm shorter or drilling one of the holes in it out will be the hardest part. Would suggest going with the 4 link servo mount incase you decide to switch to a 4 link.

I didn't realize those full-size 645MG servos were that cheap!

The 645mg has 133oz torque. I have the 5645MG which has 1660z @ 6v. put the netak arm on and drilled the second hole from the end to accepy the stock ball stud. I think either of these are a great choice. here is a pic of my Plexiglas plate I made for it and the lipo.

Thanks for the help guys! Looks like I'm going to place my order to rcbros and tcscrawler for the servo today. Then I can let the stock servo RIP.

You can also get some new lockers from RCbros they have a thread on here that they have lockers for the front and rear for $10 plus shipping each axle. I am going to pick up there lockers for my next build.
